A Washington State Clemency and Pardons Board member was also a compensated board member of Inatai Foundation. Inatai provided funding to The Way to Justice. An attorney for The Way to Justice represented a petitioner who appeared before the Clemency and Pardons Board. This board member did not disclose a relationship and participated in the discussion and voting. His vote was aligned with the petitioner. Full videos of board hearings are available on TVW.

I live in King County. My rates keep going up despite having a clean driving record. I’m paying close to $400 for two cars and a 20-year-old motorcycle that’s worth 1-2 thousand at best. One of my vehicles is close to 22 years old. Any advice appreciated as these rates seem ridiculous.

Hey everyone! I'm a local real estate agent here in Bellevue, and I figured I'd try something different instead of randomly calling homeowners or bothering people with the same old sales calls. Just to be clear, I'm NOT looking to list your house or convince you to put it on the market. I work with builders and developers who are actively looking to buy properties around Bellevue and the Eastside. Even in this tougher market, my builder and developer contacts are still looking at opportunities and are willing to submit offers with different terms depending on the property and what makes sense for the seller. If you've been thinking about selling, are curious what a developer might offer for your property, or have a house you might consider selling under the right circumstances, feel free to shoot me a PM. No pressure, no obligation, and no listing pitch. If there's a potential fit, I can connect the dots and see whether one of my builder/developer contacts would be interested in making an offer. I figured this would be a better way to connect with people who are genuinely considering selling rather than cold-calling a bunch of homeowners who aren't interested. If this sounds like something you'd be open to exploring, feel free to message me! 🙂

Has anyone had experience with a birth (and/or postpartum) doula on the eastside? I'm a first time parent, due next spring and planning to deliver at Swedish Issaquah with the midwives. It's unfortunately not covered by my insurance so I'm still trying to decide if it's worth hiring a birth doula or maybe just a postpartum one since we do plan on taking some pre-birth education classes and we will be with the midwifery program. Would love to hear folks' experiences!

My across the street neighbor abandoned this cat when she sold her house about a year ago. The cat is fixed and chipped. She was born in spring of 2021. I know this because that neighbor tried to give me kittens from her cat during that time. I asked Seattle humane if they could take her but they said since she’s been outside they can’t take her and now she’s a community cat. She’s not. She doesn’t want to be outside and she is very loving. She keeps trying to come in my house but my dog will hurt her so I can’t let her in. I’m the only one in my neighborhood that feeds her and she only stays on my porch or goes in my backyard. She wants to come in but my dog has a high prey drive. I don’t want to make her stay out in the cold again over winter. She needs to be inside. Just trying to help this cat. I’ve also asked around my neighborhood while walking my dog but no one wants her. I’m not calling animal control by the way. I’ve done that several times before and it’s really traumatizing for cats.

At least 43 authors have received emails claiming interest in their books for the KUOW Book Club. At least one person paid the impersonator. In 2025, the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Internet Crime Complaint Center, or IC3, received more than 1 million reports totaling over $20 billion in losses. Washington ranked 11th in the country, with more than 25,000 complaints filed in the state. ~ A Gmail address with kuow.org wedged in front of the @ sign was the whole trick. Check what comes after the @ before you check anything else.
