Currently stuck at the Othello station because a car is blocking the NB track. Only partially joking: is there a good reason we don’t equip trains with a plow to move these sorts of things? Yes, the best solution would’ve been isolating the tracks entirely, but I can’t help but think there must be a better way

St Leo’s supports 100s of people seeking food, clothing and financial resources almost every day. We are looking for clothing donations, like sweats and warmer clothing as the season changes. We also always need tarps and sleeping bags. If you have things to donate, please stop by with your donations at the st Leo’s business office around noon to 3pm (which is when it is staffed) every weekday. Thank you!

Any interest in a casual queer WoW forever guild? Thought it would be fun to have a Seattle based guild on a PVE server. My ideas so far are; 1-2x week in game time for dungeons or someday raiding, monthly or every other month social gathering at a coffee shop or pub? It would be cool if most people were from the area, of course if we have friends who live father away they can join. No need to be queer, just kind and not close minded. Ages over 21, I’m a millennial with a reasonable bedtime lol. Interested? Send me a DM, I’ll set up a discord.

I can't stop thinking about it. It was so nice meeting you and your dog at the beach - instigated by my dog of course, since he's a lot more social than I am. Our dogs (mine, a lab - yours, the fluffiest golden retriever) got along so well. You had the cutest, fluffiest golden I've ever seen. And then, you said: "Our dogs seem to really like each other, when do you usually come here? Maybe we can meet here again so they can play together?" I was like….i live pretty far and don’t come here much lol. And that was that. But thinking about it, I would have liked to get to know you better.

Reality: It is not illegal for a US employer to lay off or replace a US citizen with an H-1B visa holder. Employers are not required to prove that American workers are unavailable before hiring an H-1B visa holder. There is no shortage test of US workers or labor market test of any kind required to hire H-1B holders. The H-1B visa is simply a legal authorization for foreign workers to work in the United States. H-1B holders do not need to prove that they are filling a labor shortage and their employer can hire them. However, if they apply for a green card through an employment-based category that requires PERM labor certification, they must go through the PERM/labor market testing process. There is no PERM requirement for hiring H-1B workers. 31% of H-1B workers fall under Level 1 wages [Entry level Wages], 51% under Level 2 wages [Qualified Wages], and the remaining 18% under Levels 3 [Experienced] and 4 [Fully Competant] combined, based on the Department of Labor's wage levels adjusted for occupation and location. You can check your wage level here: OFLC Wage Search | FLAG.DOL.GOV . All this commentary in newspapers claiming that H-1B workers are supposed to fill labor shortages of US citizens is completely false, and there is no law requiring employers to prove such a shortage before hiring H-1B workers.
