There are some people going door-to-door asking for voters by name to get them to vote today. If you try to send them away kindly, they will argue with you. So if you get a knock today, it may be them.

I discovered Thomas Hardy this year and am considering a quest to read all 14 of his published novels. I'd love to get a small group together for a one-time Victober meetup! The idea is to read the same Hardy novel, meet up for a meal somewhere in or near Seattle, and chat about the book and other literature we enjoy. Not sure if there's enough interest, but here it goes. I've read five Hardy novels so far, ranked by preference: 1.The Mayor of Casterbridge 2. Far from the Madding Crowd 3. A Pair of Blue Eyes 4. Tess of the d'Urbervilles 5. The Return of the Native I'm considering The Woodlanders next, but I'm open to other suggestions!

Notice you or your friends getting a drippier nose recently, or a slight cough? This year’s flu rates have spiked earlier than usual, as announced by Public Health – Seattle & King County, and COVID is still present. The Department published a graphic on Oct. 9 showing how flu rates in emergency department visits are spiking this month with a sharp rise in September. “In 2025, we didn’t get here until mid-December,” according to the graphic. Used to stay in Sea-Bel and used to love visiting Gene Coulon Park and Microsoft campus for fall colors. Now they are pretty far, wanted to see if you have any recommendation for places to visit for fall colors in and around Everett (30-40 mins drive is ok) Thank you

Going down the list of restaurants to visit before exiting Seattle and a friend took me to Fonda La Catrina for lunch yesterday. Perfect place to go in the midst of a grey and rainy day, for one, but my friend was happy to see this place doesn't charge one of those stupid surcharges that have become so popular here. Assuming the employees are making at least $20 per hour, but he still tipped 20% (not sure how everyone feels about this, but as former waitstaff, we still feel it's right to do, lol!). Great ambience and vittles and how about that "margarita flight", lol!

Hi, What are some places to take my dog? We go to chambers to sit in the grass in the early morning or late evening, or walk wapato. But we need more places for him to sniff. Any suggestions? I think Wright Park has too many people for him as hes a bit reactive to other dogs. Not a mean dog, he just wants their attention to play lol thank you in!!! Also open to places outside of tacoma.
