We recently found out our kiddo got a spot at the Bezos Academy at McCarver Elementary in Hilltop. As we look deeper into the school, we’re having a really hard time finding anything about the program other than the official website. Wondering if there are other parents that can share their experiences? We want to hear it all - the good, bad, mundane, etc. thank you!
Come welcome Camilo (@lowlifewreck) to Seattle. He just walked 3000 miles from Flordia to Seattle and documented it on socials. We will meetup at Kerry Park on Saturday, Oct 10 at 12 PM if you want to give him a welcome! The walk collected some $14,000+ for the Singletons Charity.

So I smooched my boyfriend on a sidewalk today. (Two pecks, no tongue.) We are in our forties. Someone yelled from their car “get a room!” It got me wondering about what the local culture is around public displays of affection? Now that I think about it, I don’t think I even see many couples hugging in public. (Not asking because I want to know which rules to follow. I’m just interested in the culture.) Edit: (to be clear, it was awesome.)
My life changed forever this past Monday when I gratefully bore witness to Digger, my favorite film of all time, which I am crowning the Citizen Kane of the 21st Century. It was so excellent that I watched it for a second time on Tuesday with my partner, who enjoyed it as well. On both viewings my fellow audience members were not nearly as enthralled as I. I was the only one laughing in the first viewing, but fortunately there was another person laughing during the second viewing. Shout out to him, and all my fellow Digger heads. I would love to see Digger a third time with weekend with a packed house of fellow Digger Heads who will laugh at the funny parts and make for an enjoyable communal Digger viewing experience. Digger Heads, we must mobilize to save Digger from being a box office flop. If we want movies like this to continue to be made, we must get out and support them. I hope to see you all at the Grand this weekend, don’t forget to bring yer shovel
Decided I want to try out something on their menu tonight. They don’t do any online ordering. And they never pick up the phone. But they stayed on their website that you can call place a to go order. Last time I wanted to try them, I had to go in physically and order. Not once have they ever pick up the phone when I have ever called. Just tonight I tried calling a few times and it was clear that they picked up the phone, set it down so that it would go busy so that I couldn’t call again. Purposefully ignoring calls. Super unprofessional behavior. Last time I was in there, staff was kind of rude to me as well. I know there are people that are like religious zealots with this place, but they need to get it together. I’m sure they’re going to be Stan’s on here better gonna shit on me just because I don’t like that they don’t pick up the phone. Frankly, I don’t give a shit. If you like the place, then go do what you want. More power to you. This post isn’t for you.
Heyo folks, looking for recommendations for pick your own apple orchards. Googling things isn’t really producing anything Anything in pierce or king counties, or up the peninsula.
My fiancée (she proposed to me before she left to work overseas 6 months ago) and now I want her to have her moment too. She wants to ride around and listen to music with me after I pick her up from the train station, which is actually perfect because my plan is to play our favorite song and in the middle of it have an audio track of me telling her how much I missed her, how I want to spend my life with her, and then at the very end my plan is to have my audio say “now that you’re home and we both do not have to wait anymore, there’s one question I want to ask you“ and then the music will get higher. And I’ll step out of the car and go to her side, open her door so she can get out, and then propose. The thing is, I won’t be picking her up till around 8:30. Then the spot I want to propose at is in the Dukes parking lot right next to the rocks/water because it’s a sentimental spot to us. If I can’t get anyone to park in that spot and sit there for me it’ll be taken because it’s a convenient spot to park in. Any alternative spots near the water at the waterfront that are accessible by car around 9:45 pm on a Saturday? Thank you all!
