I live near the Capitol Hill lightrail and love going to cafes, and I know plenty that are great for working or meeting up with someone (Analog, Seasmith, Victrola, Realfine, Little Oddfellows). While you can read at places like these, is there anywhere that has comfier seating, such as coaches/armchairs, rather than just hard chairs and benches, for curling up with a book?

Hi I’m going to be moving to Bellevue for an internship this winter and looking for a studio apt to sublease from January - April end. If anyone is looking for a subletter pls reach out. I heavily prefer a studio but am open to female current student/new grad roommates as long as there’s a private bathroom. Budget is dependent on the place and if there is a furnished option or not. Pls feel free to reach out.

Hi everyone! I'm sorry to call an audible but I am going to postpone the next gathering until Tuesday the 20th, usual time (6:30pm) at Doyle's. The original plan was to get together having read the prefaces (there are some banger sections in there and I want to be party to that discussion). In addition to this , can everyone please read the first two sections of Chapter 1? (It's about 12 pages) I think this will provide ample material for a first deep-dive into the text proper, and the additional week should allow for plenty of time for thorough reading and reflection. Don't feel like you have to comprehend anything too firmly the first time around! I'm sure everything will eventually come to light during the group discussion. Please plan for the upcoming meeting to take 1.5 hours. The first 30 minutes will probably be dedicated to discussing the prefaces, and the remaining hour to the material covered in chapter 1, if necessary. I am copying a link to the David Harvey lecture series which is an amazing resource. Thanks all and see you on the 20th. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5vu4MpYgUo&list=PLWvnUfModHP9Ci8M1g39l4AZgK6YLCXd0

Hello! Some of my pants pockets are too small and I would love to have them expanded. Many dry cleaners are confused by this request or tell me they've never gotten this question before. Can you recommend some places in the Ballard area that can do this? I'm ok with Greenwood or Shoreline too. I just don't want to cross 99 or i5 to get it done.

Anyone able to recommend a door installer? I have two interior doors that I need replaced and reached out to multiple contractors/installers. They either won’t call me back or the couple that have, have been super unreliable / flaky 😫

Hi all, I am planning to move to Seattle next Fall. I was told by many colleagues not to live downtown because of safety concerns. Personally, I am not too worried about myself, but I am worried for my fiancée; our preference is to live closer to areas with more hustle and bustle. I grew up in New York and worked in Miami, Chicago, and DTLA. I know Seattle is not those places, but in terms of environment, that's kind of what I'm hoping to find. My budget is between 2500-3500. What neighborhoods should I be looking into? I saw Capitol Hill, which seems promising. Please advise.

Seattle’s previous efforts to expand public restroom access have been stymied by issues with drugs and vandalism. More than 30,000 people have used the Pioneer Square bathrooms so far. Only five people have been restricted from using Thrones, Heinzelman said. Two weeks after the Pioneer Square Thrones were installed, someone threw a rock through one of the bathroom’s windows. ~ The standing objection was always that Seattle cannot have public bathrooms because people wreck them. Six months in Pioneer Square: one rock through a window, five people banned, 30,000 visits. Whether $116,000 a year per unit is the right price is worth arguing about. Whether it can work here is not.

The ban is going to prohibit new PERM applications for Microsoft employees. Existing PERM applications as well as approved applications and those already in the green card line with I140 and/or I485 approved are not impacted by today's announcement. Today's announcement was related to labor certification (PERM) Everyone needs to chill. There are a few 1000 green card applicants in the line at Microsoft and most will not be impacted. If you are on a visa, working at Microsoft and plan to apply for a green card (PERM not approved), start looking for a new company.

Our car windshield got hit with something on the highway and now has a big 7 inch crack going to the edge. It looks like our insurance wants us to use Safelite but I've read too many bad reviews. What's everyone's recommendation for an auto glass repair shop that does calibration for the safety systems, too?
