Hey y’all. I’ve been to plenty of board game meetups, and while the games have been fun, the social side has been a little rough. Explaining a complicated rule? No problem. Having a conversation that isn’t about the game? Apparently a much bigger ask. Not to sound mean, but I’ve been going to meetups to try and find friends, and I haven’t clicked with many people at these meetups. I want to play something heavy, talk some shit, and get to know the people across the table. Maybe get along enough to grab dinner with new people sometime. What’s the deal, am I just going to the wrong meetups or is that just Seattle for me. Anyone found a group around Seattle where that’s the vibe? Or in the same boat and want to get something going?

I’m 19, from central OR. Moving out next year to pursue music and get involved with a music scene. I’m drawn to Seattle because of the Seattle Drum School (not collage) and because of the music history, even though I know it’s not what it once was. I’m wondering what the genuine pros are and what the genuine CONS are? I’ve never lived on my own, or in a city. But I landed a job with Costco and so I can transfer when I’m ready to move. I want to find a community with cool, unpretentious hard working people my age, and I want to be able to afford it with a 40 hr/week job I know it was better in the 90s I know it’s expensive. Everything is. And I know there’s probably better cities. Give me PRACTICAL advice. I wanna stay in the PNW.
She WAS wearing a donut so I don’t know if she still is. Her collar wasn’t on of course because it had to be washed. Her name is Lady lmk anything THANK YOU EVERYONE WE GET TO PICK HER UP TOMORROW
Thank you to the kind lady who struck up a conversation with me at the 3rd and Virginia bus stop so we had strength in numbers to ward off the riff raff that was making some of us uncomfortable. I hope you end up moving to Lisbon and keep perusing your art!!!
Hi all, I'm considering moving into Arrive Belltown. My office is in Downtown Seattle and I don't have a car, so I'd be walking or taking transit most days. A few questions for people who live or work in the area: - How safe does the building and its immediate block feel, especially at night? - Is the walk to downtown comfortable, both morning and evening? Any streets I should avoid? Thanks in advance. Honest experiences, good or bad, are really appreciated!
I know this is a long shot. I left a black fabric tote bag containing a notepad with personal/important to me information. The tote says Cabaret Voltaire Nag Nag Nag on it. I already contacted the County and the driver said the bag was not on the bus. If you grabbed it by accident or found a bag meeting this description please message me and I will ask no questions plus a cash reward for returning it to me. Thank you.
Doesn't have to be controversial. Could be about neighborhoods, food, traffic, weather, public transit, things to do, anything. I'm curious what Seattle take gets you the most disagreement.
Hey Tesla drivers of the Seattle area. Please stop driving, you make everyone else’s lives harder. Also keep coping with driving a republican figures car, your stupid little “I bought this before elon went crazy” sticker doesn’t mean crap and you just don’t have the guts to sell your beloved Tesla and get a new car. Also you look like NPCs because all you tech nerds drive the same car…
I have been through 3 different gardeners in the last year and a half. They all inevitably start strong, then sometimes don't show up. Or they agree to specific work for which I pay extra, then don't do it. Or they come and don't actually maintain the plant life, just rake leaves. I don't need a leaf raker and I've told them that 100 times. Even crazier, my current gardener REFUSES to take my money. I legit had to hassle him for 4 months to tell me what I owe because I refused to be surprised by some massive bill out of the blue. Budget is about $65-75/hour. I have a project worth a few thousand right off the bat in doing some erosion control, planting, and mulching. Does anyone have a recommendation for a RELIABLE gardener that serves the Madrona area?
For those who also live in the Uplands. The community landscaping states that trees must be placed 5 feet from driveways, walkways, and houses. This includes public and private paths. If you live here your builder probably did not follow these guidelines - yet this is what is written in the community guidelines. If your trees are incorrectly placed, please reach out to the hoa to let them know. The builder will likely move the trees to be correctly placed or work with you on this - or you can choose to do it on your own without the builder. The improper tree placement can lead to maintenance issues later on so you might want to address this early on. The hoa will not be communicating this out to the community so it is our job to advocate and communicate this out.
