Via Ari Hoffman: NEW: Seattle Socialist Mayor Katie Wilson held an event last week and claimed that Jews, Christians, and tech companies are conspiring to bring about the "armageddon" to "make a lot of money selling condos" in Gaza. On Thursday, Sept. 24, Wilson held an event with far-left Canadian activists Naomi Klein and Astra Taylor about their book "End Times Fascism," which claims Christian Zionists, Jews, and tech companies are trying to start World War III with "nukes" by getting Israelis to storm the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which sits on the Temple Mount. She shows a video claiming that the war in Gaza was specifically for tech companies to clear space for condos built by Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff with the help of Mark Zuckerberg, Palantir, President Donald Trump, and Elon Musk. No mention of the Oct. 7 massacre. The video includes clips from movies: Armageddon, The Day After Tomorrow, and I Am Legend (A Zombie Movie), showing the end of the world It also conflates Bibi Netanyahu, President Trump, and Elon Musk with Nazis and claims that the left, socialists, and communists are the actual victims More to come... (Video from the event is in the link)

I’m 23 and just went clubbing for the first time recently, I think I’m addicted now lol. I went to Cultura and had such a good time! I spent a little bit of the night at Neighbours and really enjoyed it there too, but unfortunately we had to leave because one of our friends drank a little too much 😂 Now I’m trying to find more places to go in the Seattle area! I’m especially interested in gay/queer clubs that are actually welcoming to bi/lesbian women. I’d love somewhere with a fun, energetic atmosphere where I can dance, meet people, and just have a good time without feeling out of place. I’m totally open to gay clubs, lesbian/bi-friendly spots, or honestly just any clubs you think a young woman would have a blast at. Bonus points for places with good music and dancing! And are there any clubs that do weekday parties? Please drop your favorites because I clearly have some catching up to do 😂
I have 2 cats and am phasing out some of the older playthings, but don't want to burden a shelter with items of quality they won't accept. It feels a shame to throw things out, but some of the pieces have been a bit roughed up (a cat tree reduced to half size because the top became unstable, wand toys that are frayed but have since lost my cats' interest, scratch pads used but not to the point of crumbling, etc.). Was wondering if anyone on here might have some work or personal experience with the shelters and know their donation standards. Thanks!
I rarely post on Reddit but I need some assistance from you all. They are currently trying to “rightsize” the Portland OR school district. It’s a nightmare. There’s talk of Seattle and how the city fought this and won. If this is true, how did you all fight this? What steps did you take? We’re protesting at the school board tonight and writing emails. Is there anything else we can do?
Seems very tone-deaf for them to do this, especially at a time when library staff needs our support for their unionization efforts.
On 10/2 I was standing at the corner of Westlake and Thomas around 7:30am, waiting for the walk signal. You walked up with a Shiba on a leash. Your dog looked at me, looked at my shoes, then back at my face and held eye contact for a full eight seconds before turning away with a sigh. You were very apologetic and said "Oh, he does that" but I was so shaken I crossed against the light just to get away. I am now questioning my jacket, haircut, and life choices after such a personal and mentally debilitating judging. My therapist says I should seek a second opinion from the dog but I just want closure. Please DM me if this sounds like you. All I want is for your Shiba to provide more direct feedback instead of just looking disappointed. Fingers crossed you are lurking on r/Seattle 🤞 Everyone else, please smash that like button so I can find out what I did wrong.
Every morning on my drive to work, as I approach the Exit 157, 1 Mile" sign on I-5 N, my nose is assaulted by what smells like rotting garbage. What the hell is over there that smells so bad??
This is getting really old, getting woken up in the middle of the night with what i can only describe as a churning, low level resonance that really amplifies in the middle of the night, but not every night! I know a lot of people say this is from Harbor Island but I can't get on board with that. I really think this is from Nucor. I've complained before and I immediately heard back from a Nucor PR agent that assured me this is a good company and lot's of great jobs, please don't say anything, come visit our factory.... But why did I get a response from Nucor when i made a complaint to the EPA (unrelated smell issue)? They're clearly aware of complaints and seem to jump on them rather quickly to prevent any kind of uprising. I'd really like to know, what the hell is that noise in the middle of the night??? Last night I woke up thinking my phone alarm (vibration) was going off. Then, it's the only noise i could hear. Sounded like a vibrational morse code for hours. Anyone else hear that last night?? Oh, and the Coyotes were interesting once I was wide awake. Near West Seattle Golf course.
Good morning Washingtonians- we’re on the way to your beautiful city and we need recommendations! We’re playing the crocodile tonight at 8 P.M. if you want to come by:)
Many Sound Transit 3 (ST3) expansion projects are facing headwinds, but Ballard Link in particular faces considerable uncertainty, with a 2042 opening date for the whole line the best case scenario, which would require closing a huge budget gap of around $8 billion. The less-rosy scenario would be opening only the portion through Downtown Seattle in the 2040s and delaying the Interbay and Ballard section to the 2060s, allowing more time for funding to accrue in Sound Transit's coffers. Sound Transit issued the RFI on September 2, with responses due October 5. "Declining to study an alternative with $10 billion in potential savings because the analysis may cost tens of millions is not sound process management. It is institutional inertia, a sunk-cost fallacy that completes the paperwork for a tunnel Sound Transit cannot afford to build, while blocking the alternatives most likely to reach Ballard." ~ A 30 day window, no industry outreach beforehand, and proposals have to stay inside a project definition that never included elevated track downtown. The cheapest ideas were out of scope before anyone opened an envelope.
