Hey all. My name is Judy, Renton local and recently laid off software developer who wanted to share a project I made during my funemployment. I hope it can truly help people out. https://lowcostdentalcleanings.com/ We often see dental hygiene students posting on here and other local subreddits for patients. I noticed it enough that I built a tool in my free time to try to centralize that. That said, the tool is useless if nobody knows about it or uses it. If you or anyone you know would like to connect with a dental hygiene student directly to schedule care, please consider signing up and creating a post. Dental hygiene students would absolutely love to talk to you! If you're understandably not interested in doing all that, but might be curious anyway about dental hygiene schools near you, feel free to just also browse https://lowcostdentalcleanings.com/schools so you can find dental hygiene schools clinics and contact them directly. And if you happen to know any dental hygiene students who might find this helpful, please spread the word. My goal with the app is to genuinely help people. If I can get just 5 successful patient-student matchups by end of year, I'll feel my tool accomplished it's mission and was worth building. I have whopping 2 dental hygiene students already in the Seattle area at the Pima school in Northgate. Please consider reaching out to them if you need low cost preventative dental care. Thanks all for reading!

In 2025, the Washington Legislature passed a law that prevents rent gouging, but some landlords and property management companies are still up to their old tricks. They are using "junk fees" as a loophole around rent caps. We are hearing from tenants that they are increasingly being charged excessive fees for services that they don’t want or need, or for basic things like paying the rent. We at the Housing Alliance, call these “junk fees” and they are unfair, expensive, and deceptive. We’d like to hear your experiences. All information shared with us will be kept safe and confidential. Please fill out our survey if you or someone you know has received junk fees and we will be in touch within one week of your submission. Thank you! ~ Po (Advocacy Organizer) Housing Alliance Junk Fees Survey link: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=w21JOKsxXkiwtHn-0hx8aKTozXDbIbFMt3Zx5CarFp1UQVdCNElaSzQyNzFWUU02QVJTNEI2OUVCVS4u

I got an offer from a new job, but my background check was requested two weeks ago and I just now received notice that it’s been further delayed to at least October 6th. I’ve already given my current job a two week notice of resignation which is almost up now, and now I have to go in and try to see if they can keep me a bit longer so I don’t lose income, but it’s no guarantee. My new employer and I have both reached out to the background check company and they’ve reported that Pierce County is having “significant delays” in background check requests. Is this happening to anyone else right now or is it just background check company BS? Who do I even contact within Pierce County to ask what tf is going on?

I'm doing some restoration on a japanese fire truck. Now that I have the paint to start refinishing some of the damaged body panels I can plan for pinstriping and lettering. It's all rolled gold leaf in style. Anyone got a good recommendation in or around the area? the edging stripes are still in place so we can find something that matches somewhat to redo with to keep the original look, though the lettering from the fire department was removed when the vehicle was originally retired from service I'll be putting that graphic back together.
