Hey all! Posting here in case there’s anyone who’d be interested in getting together throughout the week (preferably in the evening) to play badminton at Bellevue Badminton Club. I recently got a membership and reserving a court can be pretty cheap if enough people get together to play! I’m at an intermediate skill level, but open to playing with anyone. Feel free to reach out to me to coordinate times if interested :)

About a week ago I started having severe allergic reactions. My eyes became so itchy and irritated. I started developing a bunch of hives around my hands in my arms, and then my neck area has become extremely red and itchy with like a huge rash. I normally have been suffering for about seven years from chronic urticaria which I could take medication for on a daily basis. But the amount of itchiness from this flareup is unprecedented and it’s driving me nuts. I’ve been taking the steroids that I have for these flareups as well as increasing my antihistamine dose but wandering what may be causing this I think it definitely has to do with some fall pollen or dust and mold, like a seasonal allergy because every time I go out my eyes get so teary and my nose starts running. But this has never happened to me before during fall and it’s never happened this severely. What could this be? Is anybody else experiencing this?

I was on a walking date today on the Puyallup River Trail. We stopped for a couple minutes on a clearing overlooking the river. We were just shooting the shit not really paying attention, until all of the sudden she says, "What's that?" and points. I looked and there was a cute little seal head sticking up out of the water maybe 10 feet from where we were, just looking at us. He popped back under the water, then resurfaced further up one last time before disappearing for good. I was completely shocked because I've been on the river countless times and never seen a seal . This was about 5 miles upriver from Commencement Bay.

Did they pause the construction or something? It’s been a minute since I last saw anyone working on it.
In Pierce County, over 14,000 people between the ages of 16 and 24 are not going to school or working, according to a report from WorkForce Central. [...] Burkes said Clover Park hopes to impact at least 200 people with the funding, but the college also wants to find ways to sustain more affordable offerings even after the grant dollars run out. The new programs have grown quickly. In January 2025, there were four students enrolled at the Eastside Training Center; now there are 400. There are about 40 students currently in the lineworkers program, up from less than 10 when it started. ~ The demand is not in question. Four students to 400 in under two years answers that. What is in question is a 14,000 person gap being met with a grant sized for 200, and what happens to the scholarships once this money runs out.
Looking for recommendations for a great birthday brunch spot! I have some friends and family coming in from out of town for my birthday, and I’m looking for somewhere that can accommodate a group of around 10–12 people. Most of the visitors will be staying around Renton/South Seattle, so I’d ideally like to keep it to Renton, South Seattle, or Bellevue rather than going all the way into downtown Seattle. Looking for somewhere that: Has really good brunch food with both sweet and savory options (French toast/pancakes/waffles AND good egg dishes, benedicts, etc.) Can comfortably accommodate/reserve for a group of 10–12 Feels nice enough for a birthday, not just a basic breakfast spot Has decent parking or at least isn’t a nightmare for people coming from out of town Bonus if it’s a cute/pretty space or has a slightly more elevated brunch feel. Would love recommendations, especially places you’ve actually gone to with a larger group!
