Hello, My family (wife and 2 kids) would like to move to a Seattle suburb (or perhaps in the city) but I’m overwhelmed with how many there are. Could you locals help me figure out where to focus my search on? Here are some relevant facts about us - We make around 350k/year before tax - We would like public schools that are 7+ (if possible, may not be) - We don’t have to be close to work (remote workers) - My wife’s dream is to have access to hike in and out before the end of a work day - We like cool restaurants, coffee roasters, and breweries We were focusing our search on the east side. Some of the places that seem to fit the criteria seem too far from the city to be able to make a reasonable trip for a date night or a weekend shopping trip. Is there something I am overlooking? I haven’t seen much in the south or north. Also, if my requests are completely unrealistic that’s ok to say too. I really am not sure if it can be done.

Maybe it's me and my distrust of most political measures ...but the wording seems unnecessarily confusing. I won't comment on the way I will vote, as I still have the burn of the cancelling on another site and really do want to follow the rules....but not enough to review them every time I post. Happy political season! Let's hope the signs get taken down by Christmas.
I run hot and it’s been hard for me to find a place with A/C ( not A/C ports). Ideally looking for a 1 bed 1 bath, with in unit washer dryer and preferably with little to no carpet. I’ve been looking in apartment apps for so long and it’s hard to find an apartment that has these things :( I’m flexible on price.
I’m trying to get out of my comfort zone and become more comfortable talking to strangers. I’d like to randomly have short conversations with people — nothing too deep or forced. Part of my goal is to work on my fear of public speaking, become more comfortable initiating conversations, and honestly, get better at handling rejection or awkward interactions. For people in Seattle, are there any good places where this would feel relatively natural? Maybe places/events where people are generally open to chatting with strangers? Also, if you’ve done something similar to overcome social anxiety or fear of talking to people, what worked for you? I’m specifically looking for practical advice — even small things I can do regularly to slowly get out of my comfort zone.
The Majestic Bay is marking the end of its 25th year with an opening-day film and a new documentary tracing more than a century of theater history at its Ballard site.
a lot of people waiting and smoke coming out from the back.. in case anyone is waiting for the southbound link update: workers on site basically said to find alternate methods of transportation as this will affect all of southbound and they’re unsure of when it will be resolved
Any recommendations for food or must see sites would be greatly appreciated! I have work meetings, but definitely want to make the most of my time in Seattle. I’d love to find some salmon fish and chips to eat! 😋I’m staying near the airport. Thank you in advance 🎣

Hi, so i’m arriving shortly. i will need to take public transportation for the couple of days here. Do i have to buy seperate all day passes for each mode of transportation i’m taking or is there a 3-day pass that can cover everything that i could purchase? coming from chicago we have a pass that covers buses and trains together. EDIT: Okay, thank you all. i did download the app to see but i’ll just do the cc to tap since that seems to be the consensus.
