I'm looking for a place to bring my desktop PC for diagnostics/repair. It randomly loses power with no pattern or reproducible trigger. I've tested basically everything I know how to up to this point and need someone who knows what they're doing to take over from here. Does anyone have a local computer repair tech that they trust and is willing to deep dive into issues instead of just running standard tests and calling it a day?

I want a list of restaurants to avoid because they steal from their workers since I feel it’s important to support such business practices. The problem is I don’t work in the industry and don’t have friends who work in the industry so I sort of feel like theres no way to get that information since it’s not exactly advertised, even though it should be. So. Please name and shame your shitty bosses! Which restaurants in Seattle should be avoided if I want to avoid giving my business to a shitty boss?
Usually when folks visit Seattle's Pike Place Market, it's during the day -- and mobbed. Seriously, moving through here sometimes feels like the Running of the Cruise Ship Passengers. Though, to be fair, it's plenty mobbed on days when cruise ships aren't in town. Which is why it was fun to visit on a weekday evening a few weeks ago, right after things closed up. I got to walk the hallways and have them entirely to myself. But thanks to all of the great neon, it was still pretty photogenic. Exactly the kind of photography I like best! My favorite pic might just be where I almost managed to position the "Fresh" fish sign right above the sign pointing to restrooms so it says Fresh Restrooms. Which, doubtful!
My family home, where I was living, burned down in a total-loss fire about a month ago in Kirkland. My mom is a ceramic artist, and she had handmade our address numbers, “303” and “301,” for the front of the house. When I recently went back to see if I could salvage them, I discovered that they had been removed. They were drilled into the siding, so someone would have had to intentionally take them down. It’s confusing and upsetting. These pieces don’t have any monetary value, but they have sentimental value, and I would like to have them. If you happen to have seen them, know anything about what happened to them, or come across them somewhere, I would be very grateful if you reached out. Thank you. https://preview.redd.it/m89y1eyoeash1.png?width=1179&format=png&auto=webp&s=37d1ca67f1bffed459a680ed7c5e971b7582de30 https://preview.redd.it/6jjim5pqeash1.png?width=1179&format=png&auto=webp&s=8c79ba0a3826ae758591c3b30fd5f4dae6876987
My front yard camera picked up two coyotes last night around 3:30 AM. I hope the family of bunnies made it ok. Watch your kids and watch your cats!
Welcome back to Episode 3 of my Seattle Teriyaki Journey. Before locking in the definitive year-end tier list, I’ve realized the order of visits definitely distorts the rankings (anchor effect from early elite spots, late-tour palate fatigue, salt burn). Because of that, I’ll be doing official rematches for the top contenders before the final verdict drops. For this round, I added 10 more spots across town—pushing the total to 23 places visited.
Anyone know why the lights on the grandstand and parking lots stay on 24/7? Seems like it would cost a lot of money to do so.
The Leary Way Starbucks has closed its cafe and drive-thru just eight months after opening.
In a previous post this summer I expressed how incredibly beautiful the Whitehorse trail is from Arlington to Darrington. This morning on a short walk I noticed this sign posted at Haller Park. I’m very excited to see that the county is moving forward with plans to make this trail more accessible and attractive. I’m really looking forward to seeing what comes about in the spring. ST quietly published their 2 Line ridership late last week, the first update since the full Seattle to Redmond connection opened in March. They didn't issue any kind of press release and there was no media coverage. The weekday boardings on 2 Line this year were projected to be 43000 to 52000 per day. June is typically the busiest month for Link, and we had the World Cup in town which we were assured would mean packed trains. None of that helped because 2 Line only had 17,221 boardings per day, a shortfall of 66%. Last month didn't even hit 14,000 boardings, a massive 73% below the target. The gap will widen over the winter months where Link ridership usually drops to it's lowest point. There is no way this $5 billion dollar project is going to hit projections. How long til they announce a budget shortfall and need more money for their next train? https://preview.redd.it/hizfppdx4ash1.png?width=533&format=png&auto=webp&s=2e491d33540b8b096d4dc4e9f66c391acceb82b1 Sources: https://www.soundtransit.org/ride-with-us/system-performance-tracker/ridership https://www.soundtransit.org/get-to-know-us/news-events/news-releases/sound-transit-breaks-ground-downtown-redmond-link Edit: For people who are saying these are "old models" pre pandemic, that is true, they are from 2019, but ST has continued to use these numbers up until March of this year. e.g. March 2026 "According to Rachelle Cunningham, Public Information Officer with Sound Transit, “Sound Transit expects 50,000 daily boardings on the 2 Line between Lynnwood and Downtown Redmond stations."
