sorry if i can’t post this here. i work as a barista rn, but i was a TA for a comp sci class series (specifically computational biology) in college and was wondering if there was a similar need for CS tutors around here. seattle is a tech hub so maybe all the google and amazon workers want their kids to learn python or something. does anyone know where i can look to find opportunities for that? this isn’t a self-promo at all, i don’t have this figured out yet- just trying to figure out where to look. thanks.

Next week I have a work event on Wednesday in Walla Walla, followed by another event Friday afternoon also in Walla Walla. Though Walla Walla is a cute town, I don’t know if I want to stay there for two days -one can only drink so much wine. So what are the alternatives? Ideally, I just want somewhere to chill and relax with hot springs, a sauna, or hot tub. McMinamen’s Edgewater would be great, but that’s 3.5hrs away, and that’s just too far to drive for a day. Likewise, I don’t see going to Seattle to be worth it either. I’ve had poor experiences in tri-cities and yakima, but are there any alternatives in the area that I could visit? Any suggestions? Edited to respect some locations.

In light of the news that came out of New York this week and how the mayor went after DoorDash, I was hopeful Seattle’s very own enforcement agency would do something similar because I am very much convinced DoorDash has been drastically underpaying the estimates to dashers. When you compare the pay on Instacart or Uber eats for a shopping order versus DoorDash it’s night and day, sometimes as much as 50% less, and while it’s not cut and dry, there are reasons and they all pay differently in their methods, I have long suspected that it was not true to Seattle standard So not only are they charging customers out the ass, they’re underpaying the workers from the fees they collect

Looking for an aspiring fitness coach I’m looking for someone who’s newer to fitness coaching and wants to build some experience. I’m very serious about getting in shape, but I can’t really justify the prices of established coaches right now. I’m mainly looking for accountability, workout guidance, and nutrition advice. I’m not looking for anything super intensive or a huge time commitment. I do have the time to spend at the gym- just not neccesarily looking to work out with a trainer that often. If you’re starting out as a coach and interested in working with someone who’s genuinely committed, DM me

We are on English Hill, and power is out again. This is just one out of probably a dozen outages we are in for. Just venting, I know people are going to be like, "yeah, well we live in the beautiful PNW where we have tons of trees." Sometimes, we don't care.

It'll grow on you if you give it a chance. The rain is different here, gentler, much easier to go out in with the right gear. Even today is on the heavier side. Notice the vivid shades of green everywhere, one big difference between here and winter rain in the rest of the country. Notice the lush earthy smell, the rainforest sighing in relief. Enjoy the comfort of sitting by the window in the rain, our favorite local pastime. Weed and coffee, the lack of pressure to do anything Anyway just some thoughts I've accumulated on the rain after living here a long time, helped on by the aforementioned weed and coffee

I don’t mind driving 20-30 minutes for it. I just want a library with warm lighting and nice work spaces so I can draw and do things on my computer. Any recommendations?
