Was just in SF for a week and it was so much cleaner and safer than Seattle outside Tenderloin. Even SOMA cleaned up. Didn’t see any tents or addicts for miles and miles of walking downtown SF. The city was vibrant too and retail seemed thriving. I have never felt so carefree as I was in SF last week, meanwhile I’m now constantly on guard walking around downtown Seattle and Belltown. Even in the daytime. It used to be the reverse between SF and Seattle. Since when did progressivism in Seattle meant being so averse to pragmatic results and maintaining nice public spaces? Shootings daily now, even in Kerry Park this past weekend. Tents now about as bad as peak Covid after years of improving under Harrell. Do progressives not understand their policies are hurting the lower and lower middle class the most? Rich people have the means to leave and live in isolated enclaves like Madison Park and Olympic Manor. The poor have to deal with meth crazed addicts on the bus, in our parks and streets. Mom and pop businesses with razor thin margins have to deal with another broken window and rising insurance premiums. Somehow none of these people count in the progressive worldview. It’s actually cruel at this point. The Seattle city council and our mayor need to go take a field trip to SF and learn from them. Put the ideology aside and actually deliver for the public.

I’ve tried to contact Signal Security on multiple occasions for non emergency issues at my apartment. Their number is posted all over our building, and they allegedly ”patrol” the area. Tonight I tried to call to see if they could do anything about the car blocking the entry way to our apartments parking garage, and the line is always busy and nobody ever picks up. Has anybody else dealt with them before? Getting really sick of the people who loiter in the alley behind my building, and SPD clearly don’t give a shit.

I don't know if this is allowed here but trying anyway. I am 35 and after contracting COVID in 2021 my life went from an over functioning, productive person with a huge social life , attending every single edm concert there was , to a person who has really just struggled to have any hope and fighting the medical system. I work in tech and this year has been especially hard since I became housebound and sometimes even bedbound. I'm making a bit of recovery but I know the life as I knew it is over for me . For a long time I've wanted to go to a Calvin Harris concert and I'm hoping there is someone in the same boat as I am? This maybe my last concert in life , since I cannot seem to find ways to manage my disability. I cannot stand in lines or stand on my feet and dance and jump, but I'm hoping they have some seating /accessibility for people with disabilities. Anyway if you vibed with what I said, do let me know! It could be great!

Altogether, the five state Supreme Court races have reported approximately $2.8 million in donations so far, which campaigns say is a record for judicial races in Washington. Larson said these trends are causing voters to tune out and skip these races on their ballot. He lost his 2024 Supreme Court race against Justice Sal Mungia by less than 1%, while 675,000 people cast a ballot for governor but skipped the Supreme Court race. ~ Five of nine seats, a record $2.8 million, and a 2024 race decided by less than a point. These are the down-ballot lines worth researching before November 3.

Living in Kent, WA and a bit new here, need to bring in some extra cash, what are some good recommendations? I’m usually off Sun, Mon, Tue from my regular job.

Hello everyone, I found a dream apartment at the perfect price, including parking, right near Pine and 13th. However… the parking is a waitlist, with 3 people ahead of me. The leasing agent says it takes 2-3 months for a spot to come available usually. I’m considering getting a RPZ Zone 4 sticker and just fighting for street parking (unless I can find a nearby garage) but I’ve heard it’s absolutely terrible trying to find parking. I’d love to hear from people who are currently doing that parking, how’s it looking? And if anyone knows a garage nearby I wouldn’t mind paying for the parking.
