Hey there! So my husband (45), 2 yr old daughter and I (37) will be moving to Seattle in the next year for my job (I work in tech), and I’m looking for transplants from ATL for some feedback on how life is in Seattle compared to Atlanta. I’ve lived in ATL my entire life, so I’m hoping to get your thoughts on neighborhoods that have a familiar feel and overall thoughts on life in Seattle. We’re likely going to rent for the first few years so we can get to know the area well before looking to buy a home. I’ll be commuting into downtown Seattle daily, but my husband works from home. Would really appreciate y’all’s thoughts!

Good morning, I am considering living aboard a sailboat and have found a marina that allows it in this part of town. In order to finance this and remain debt-free, I’ll probably sell my newish 4Runner and give living w/o a motorized land vehicle a try. I have a decent bicycle, don’t mind public transportation, etc. Is this feasible? Thanks.

Looking for a photographer for an engagement photoshoot indoor at Washington State Capitol. Hoping to schedule November 8th or later on a Saturday or Sunday. Really would love something timeless and romantic. Anyone know of someone like that? Please let me know your best recommendations!

First it was their big dog barking nonstop around 11 or 12 last night. Then it was the couple arguing loudly at double speed at the crack of dawn. As a woman I hesitate to engage, but your bellowing at them to shut the fuck up or you’d call the cops was so appreciated (and actually worked!). On behalf 10th Ave E and Republican, thank you neighbor!

I am new to the Tacoma area; I actually live slightly north but I'll be driving down for school at Clover Park every few weeks for the in person labs. I made the mistake of going to Dennys this morning. Has the world gone insane? 15 dollars for a hashbrown and eggs. God damn. Where do you recommend for eating cheap but good? I miss dairy mart and their crock pot full of gravy. I don't need life changing, I need not questioning my life choices entering a diner in 2026. Man, I just wanted biscuits and gravy. This economy sucks.

Per News Tribune article, the land owner will not appeal the decision. Here is the actual hearing examiner decision: https://docaccess.com/docviewer.html?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcityoflakewood.us%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2026%2F09%2FEmerson-Lake-Decision.pdf&url_hash=56b77e49645344b81849e13fad242107&domain=cityoflakewood.us&site=b885cc9c-e613-4bbe-b527-9d4f700d03ed&view=transcript&found_on=https%3A%2F%2Fcityoflakewood.us%2Fhearing-examiner%2F

The past few days I have seen someone who I'm pretty sure works at the AM/PM on Front St N with multiple cats in their car. I initially thought they were those realistic looking dolls, but any time I drove past at a later time in the day the cats have moved. They leave the windows up. It's a dark blue Hyundai Elantra, I believe. If I see the car still there with the cats in it by the end of today, I think I'll call the police because this feels like animal abuse.

But while white voters have seen 1.5% of their votes scrutinized for signature discrepancies, it's 1.9% for Black voters, 2% for Asian voters and 2.2% for Hispanic voters, according to the UW research. The disparity is more stark among age groups. Signature challenges decrease with age, from 5.3% among voters 18 to 25, to 0.7% for those 66 and older. White voters reportedly fixed the issues on more than 59% of their challenged ballots, while Black, Hispanic and Asian voters corrected less than half. And the youngest voters also cure their ballots less than half of the time, compared to 72% for elderly voters. ~ Flagged more often, then fixed less often. The gap compounds at both ends of a process the state designed and the counties run.
