A handful of things worth knowing about this week in Seattle. There's a Soccer Equipment Drive happening at multiple venues, a good chance to donate gear if you've got old cleats or balls lying around. Beacon Hill Library is running a Drop In & CoLab session, and if you're into interior design, the Delgado Interiors Pop-Up Sale at Seattle Design Center could be worth a stop. The Northwest African American Museum has Freedom Day at NAAM, which honestly sounds like the highlight of the week to me. For something more low key, Frye Art Museum has a Collage Drop-in Studio, always a nice way to spend an hour. A couple weeks ago, my mother was suddenly hospitalized. I was the closest family member to respond, so I called out of work and rushed to the hospital (in Everett) and spent the next day helping with her care. Once my sister arrived and could take over, I left. I work overnight shifts, so after staying awake for almost 24 hours straight, I called out of the second shift because I would not be able to reasonably do my job in that state. Would this qualify for FMLA? I’m kind of ready to just eat that weekend’s pay, but if I can recoup some of those losses through FMLA, I’d like to try. Thanks in advance.
The keychain was a gift, so I highly appreciate your help!
She just graduated high school and I want to celebrate her. I want to spend as less as possible since I am a poor student. Any recommendations?? Is it reasonable to find 20 dollars for manicure and 20 for pedicure? I have never been so I am not sure what to expect. I look forward for your recommendations. Love you all!
Hey all, new to *posting on* Reddit and very new to Bellevue/WA in general. I moved up here in June from Oregon for better work opportunities and I love the state and city so far! I’ve been using my bike as transportation as it’s cheap and everywhere seems to be bike-friendly here. Recently, in August, I was a victim of a hit and run right by Microsoft on the way home from work, on my bike. I suffered with multiple broken bones in my face, right hand (dominant hand 😭) and some fractured ribs. I am extremely grateful to be alive, but I have run into new obstacles and challenges due to these injuries. I can no longer bike while my hand is broken, and medical bills wiped out my savings. I started work again this week but taking Ubers is extremely expensive. I was wondering if anyone here knows reliable public transportation or if they have any leads on anyone selling a cheap vehicle :) Thank you everyone in advance! I’m glad to answer any questions :) Will add photos in comments :)

might delete in the morning but did anyone hear two really loud booms? I’m over at alki and it woke me up. I know this is super vague but idk what else to say.

I’m aware evergreen foliage predominates in the region, but it would be gorgeous to see fiery reds and golds against deep green conifers or lining mountain passes. Any recommendations? I know the Seattle Japanese Garden and Kubota Garden are gorgeous in late October and early November, but I’m looking for something wilder and less known and accessible, perhaps in the north cascades, rainier, or the Olympics. Higher elevation foliage turns earlier, which is why I am asking now.
I’m a big escape/mystery room and puzzle enthusiast and will be visiting my brother in a couple months who lives in Kirkland. I often visit downtown when I’m there. Love the city. What are some escape rooms you’d recommend? I’ve played a lot of them alone (by paying for 2 people and/or paying for extra sometimes) because I love the experience of unlocking everything all by myself lol But I’m assuming a lot of them here wouldn’t allow it. That’s okay. Any theme is okay honestly. But they should be fun and challenging!
