I was curious if Seattle City Light's Time of Use Rates would be worth it for me. You can download a CSV of your energy use in 15 min increments from the SCL website. This is my household's use ytd. Switching to Time of Use rates would have increased my bill by 6% (Obviously without optimizing for night-time use of electricity). I put the formulas below if you want to do your own analysis. YMMV greatly :) Electricity cost in 2026 by time of day, blue standard rate, orange time of use rate. Standard Rate Energy per kWh = $0.13 =[@[IMPORT (kWh)]]*0.13 Time of Use Rate Peak Energy Charge per kWh $0.16 (Peak hours are when electricity is most expensive. This will be from 5 to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, except on observed holidays.) Mid-Peak Energy Charge per kWh $0.14 (Mid-peak hours will be from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 9 p.m. to midnight, Monday through Saturday. On Sundays and observed holidays, mid-peak pricing applies all day from 6 a.m. to midnight (with no peak hours).) Off-Peak Energy Charge per kWh $0.08 (Off-peak hours are when electricity cost is lowest. This will be from midnight to 6 a.m. every day.) =IF([@[START TIME]] 0.7,[@[START TIME]]

After reading about the weird ass foreign meat that is being mixed into our ground beef here, I would really like to find US stamped ground beef. I could not find any at Safeway. I use 96% lean specifically. Any suggestions on where to go?
My wife and I are staying in the area for just one night at the tail end of our Washington trip. We are eyeing the Silver Cloud hotels but I see there is the older Tacoma Waterfront location and the newer Point Ruston location. Both seem nice. We don't need anything crazy, just a nice view and decent food. Is the Ruston location worth the extra cash, or should we just go the cheaper route? What do you guys prefer? Thanks in advance!
It literally took half of my gas tank to escape the crazy ass traffic on an "express" freeway 💀 Can we all do better defend and not let those big trucks merge last minute to the express lane PLEASE, it frooze both of the lanes
Just accepted a job in Bellevue and starting to figure out where to live. Any feedback or advice is welcome! Single, non smoking/vaping, 1 cat, prefer laundry in unit but would be ok with in building. Prefer 2 bed, willing to go with 1 for the right place/commute/price. Looking up to $2300 total (including all fees, more flexible on utilities). Just how bad is Essex Trust? I've read some negative reviews but I also know people are more likely to go to the trouble to make a negative review than a positive one. They manage a LOT of property in and around Bellevue, and they tend to be on the less expensive side. Are there not many private landlords around Bellevue/Redmond/Kirkland/Issaquah or are they just pricey? If they're out there, where do I find them? I've looked on Zillow, Redfin, Apartments.com , realtor.com. If I go a bit north or south to save money, is there a good area where I could reasonably avoid 405 without having an hour commute? It just seems like a big mess. Any recommendations for places to live, property management,, or realtors in the area?
"I play varsity high school girls basketball, and if I were old enough to vote, I would vote NO to stop ballot Initiative 638 from passing this November. To enforce excluding trans girls from sports, I-638 would require all girls to submit to sex inspections before being allowed to play any sport in elementary, middle, and high school. I outright reject claims by the MAGA mega-millionaire behind I-638, Brian Heywood, that this initiative is protecting my safety! The people behind I-638 say they want to protect me from a tiny, vulnerable, and already bullied minority, transgender girls. I don’t need protection from my peers. I need to live in a community that includes, protects, and cares for all youth, regardless of gender identity. True protection for female athletes would mean safeguards from some adult male coaches, who use their power to groom and abuse girls on their teams. It would also mean less interference from people who make fun of girls on the courts, comment on our bodies, and deny us the same equipment and access that boys have. Did you know that girls drop out of sports at higher rates than boys by age 14? A humiliating exam or testing that inflicts financial burdens on families —they will not be covered by insurance—will certainly affect girls’ participation in athletics now and for years to come! To police all girls in sports, they want me to go through a new inspection during my sports physical to make sure I’m a girl by doing an invasive exam of my reproductive anatomy. Parents won’t be able to use our birth certificates to prove our sex. Even little girls playing middle school sports (and some elementary school sports) will be examined. Boys who play sports are exempt from this new requirement. Tens of thousands of us girls are not. Why are they putting us through this? To enforce a cruel ban, the most extreme of its kind in the nation, to keep a handful of trans girls from participating in athletics. I’ve been playing basketball since 6th grade and I’ve never, to my knowledge, played with or against a trans girl. The Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association says there are just 5–10 trans children playing sports, out of 1.2 million students, so the chances are very small that I’ll ever encounter a trans girl on the court and if I did so what? Sports are for everyone and we should be encouraging more people to seize the opportunity to get out and exercise and compete. My basketball teammates are my sisters. We laugh, pick each other up, disagree sometimes and support each other through challenges. They’ve taught me how to resolve conflicts, overcome frustration, and put my own ego aside for the sake of the team. Excluding trans girls from the benefits of friendship and teamwork only makes things worse for a small group of kids who already face higher violence and rates of suicide. The people behind I-638 are using a scare tactic by saying a boy will claim to be a trans girl just to walk onto a girls’ team. Life is already hard enough for trans girls who strive to pass and belong. Even the Seattle Times calls the tactic “fearmongering.” I-638 will discourage thousands of girls from participating in school sports, impacting the future of Washington girls’ sports for years to come. That’s the real danger to me and my teammates. I’m counting on all of you to vote against this harmful and exclusionary initiative." Jillian is a high school basketball player from South Seattle. Heard a loud boom then a ton of flames and smoke
TLDR: management company gave notice that they would be entering unit yesterday, snuck in today and scared me so badly I almost called the police. This isn’t the first time this has happened. What can I do? Hi Seattle friends! Looking for advice on where to start with a complaint/possible legal problem. My apartment’s management company posted notice stating that in 78 hours from the time posted, they would enter to replace a battery in the water meter. The notice said they would enter to do so on Monday the 21st between 8am-5pm. Home all day yesterday in preparation for their arrival, they no showed. Today they entered without notice and without announcing their entry. I thought I was being robbed and hid. I called the office to see if it was them who had entered, they said that they ran out of batteries yesterday and that is why they came in today. They have entered without announcing before. I’m too poor to move and frankly a bit worried about the security of the home I live in. TIA
I let the bus driver know + handed it to him. Hopefully Hello Kitty is returned to her rightful owner.
I know SDOT does not provide archival data so this is really just a hope someone has it. I had a red truck try to double merge to the left lane from Nickerson between 345-355 today heading North on the Ballard Bridge. I slammed on my brakes and missed hitting him but I am already experiencing whiplash. I am in an EV6. I’ve gone through it recently and could really use proof I’m not at fault and stopped a significantly worse accident from happening in hopes of preventing an insurance increase I cannot afford. Thanks for any assistance if you have it.
