In LA rn I love it here, pretty ppl, nice weather, all the time to do stuff that you never get in Seattle. I would say more but I'm busy breathing in the nighttime air. LA is where my heart is.

So there's a Threads post going around from a woman who worked in prepared foods at the Metropolitan Market in Crown Hill for about 4 months before quitting. She dropped a bunch of screenshots and it's not pretty. • Apparently there's barely any management in the prep foods department. Team leads hide in the office ~75% of the time. One time uncooked chicken tenders got stocked in place of the cooked ones for the fried chicken sandwich — they look identical — and people got served raw chicken. Nothing was done. • The poke lead left raw poke sitting out for around 5 hours, then put it back in the cooler to "cool down" and use again. • Hot bar food is usually the same batch from the morning with no temp logs or time controls. She says don't expect anything fresh until like 3pm. • There's a big ant and fly problem in the back because of lack of cleaning, and she says management doesn't care. • Most of the hand washing sinks in the back have no soap or paper towels. People just change gloves instead of washing hands. • She also says management profiles customers constantly, especially Black customers — following people down aisles, staring them down, yelling at unhoused people to get out assuming they're stealing. She brought it up and nothing happened. Take it with a grain of salt since it's one person's experience, but this looks bad. https://www.threads.com/share/BATZsep1wF/
Anyone know or hear anything about this? Lived here for several years without any issues. Tonight I could hear knocking somewhat distant and the classic ‘police’ but then nothing for 10 minutes or so. Then someone was shining a really bright light at my balcony….but no speaking. I’m guessing they’re looking for someone (obvi) but didn’t seem too pressed or urgent at the same time, so…

I will be in Seattle on October for a day and a half . What are the best places to visit there as a first timer given that i don’t want to rent a car . I am planning to book a hotel near pike place market. So pike place market and waterfront are already in my itinerary. Any other recommendations are highly appreciated. Also any vegetarian restaurants that is must try ????

Hey yall. Does anyone have recommendations for a hair stylist that does highlights/blonde, and offers silent appointments? Obviously minimal conversation pertaining to my hair is fine, I just really don’t want to feel the pressure of carrying a conversation while getting my hair done. I’m actually a friendly, extroverted person, just kinda going through it and would prefer quiet when possible. Also, my last hair stylist got comfortable enough to talk politics to me and that’s just uncomfortable/unprofessional. I don’t care that we have opposing views, I just don’t want it to come up as a conversation piece during an appointment that I am paying hundreds for. Thanks for any leads!
My son was at an after-school program where he parked and locked his scooter at the Center for Wooden Boats in Seattle. Somebody came by, smashed his bike lock, and stole the scooter. It was his transportation home, and I am currently waiting for LNI payments, so I cannot afford to buy him a new one; if anybody recognizes this guy, please let me know. The scooter is locked, so they will not be able to use it. I would like to have it returned; as I said, any info would be greatly appreciated. It was a birthday present, and he has had it for less than six months. One witness took a photo and sent it to the teacher, and I got a hold of it. This is all I have, guys.
I don't want to have to download an app to report that a street light is out on 6th and Main St.
