I just found a key chain in an alley between 16th and 17th off of Pike. Behind the Council House building. It has a lot of keys including a car key. If it's your's, DM me!

I have ting energy monitors on both my two circuits in my house, one each from two of the phases supplying my residential street (Roycroft Ave). Each is showing 140-142 volts RMS at present, nominal is 120 +- 3 RMS. This started at 7:16 pm and continued until at least 8:10 pm. Can anyone else corroborate this? I called first energy to “report an outage” (the only way to get a human on the line on a Sunday) and warned them they are supplying very old neighborhoods with energy well outside the expected specifications, and I got “silent blinks”. Them: “So do you have power?” Me: “Yes, far too much. A lot of old devices that don’t expect this voltage will fail with what you are delivering to these households” Them: “so you have power?” Me: “uh, yes. But it’s way outside the expected specifications. You could be destroying people’s equipment.” Them: “you’ll need to call back 9-5 M-F to talk to someone in billing or (mumble mumble) about that” Me: “uh… you realize this could destroy millions of dollars of other people’s equipment?” Them: “you’ll have to call back tomorrow during business hours” FYI: yes, electrical engineer here. I hope there aren’t a bunch of old devices with poorly engineered power supplies here in Lakewood homes…. I’m contemplating shutting everything down. All my UPS’ are screaming bloody murder as well…
Fellow Seattle residents! I have some questions regarding neighbourhoods and cars- and what would be best suited for someone like me :) Thank you in advance for taking the time to read, and I appreciate your guidance! :) Background: My North Star, my purpose of life, since time immemorial :p has been to move to Seattle. I’ve visited on and off over the past couple of years; seen downtown, Montlake (the Arboretum has etched itself into my mind…), Issaquah/Sammamish et al. I’m planning on moving in a few months. Neighborhood: In your opinion, what neighbourhood do you think is well suited for someone like me? I’m single, 31, F, permanently childfree with a remote job in tech. Ideal max base rent, to start with, is 1800 or below. I can push it to 2000 if I simply can’t find anything reasonable with that. Thing is, I would like to stay in one place for a few years rather than hop around due to rent increases. I am not looking to job hop or apply for a promotion at this point because I’m really happy with the work-life balance and stability. I do eventually plan on taking up another job in academia, ideally teaching undergrad students, but that's still a plan in progress. My only priorities are: Nature. Rain or shine, I would like to spend as much time outdoors as possible. Bellingham was one of my first considerations; I wanted to be close to Leavenworth and the North Cascades but I really don’t want to be so isolated. I don’t want to be in a metro area with buildings, but I also don’t want to be socially isolated: Community. Social life around hobbies such as running/biking/hiking or creative writing. I’d love to experience and get to know good people. Car: I absolutely love driving long distances and exploring new places. What type of Honda/Acura should I get? Currently lease a Honda Accord and will be returning the car a year early; still have to discuss those details with Honda Financial. I know that in order to avoid penalties, they will give me the option to lease/finance another Honda, or possibly Acura if I can fit it in my budget. With insurance, I am not looking to spend over 700 a month- I may get a good deal by returning my current car early since it’s in really great shape with very low mileage. Open to a crossover/SUV but not ideal since I don’t need the space but I do need something with good clearance! Priroties: AWD and long distance drives, want to drive through the pacific coast highway, national parks and forests. I would like to get out in the winter as well. Looking forward to hearing from you! Really appreciate you taking the time to read :)
My grandfather at gasworks park 70s. Kinda looks like Burt Reynolds😂
I actually live 1.5-2 hours south of Seattle, but willing to travel to Seattle. Also figured you guys might have surrounding area recs as well. I don’t want to go north of Seattle just because it ends up being a trek at that point. If the provider is north of Seattle and is the best doctor ever, I will consider!! Anyway… on to my question. :) My neurologist wants me to see a “headache specialist”. I have hard to treat, chronic migraines as well as cluster headaches. Who do you see that you love?? Thanks!! 💜
I was recently laid off from UW and am looking for a temporary, flexible position to maintain my state benefits while I search for my next role. My understanding is that I need to work at least 8 hours per month for UW or another Washington state agency to maintain benefits. I'm open to part-time, on-call, per diem, backup, intermittent, or other types of work. I don't need a full-time position right now. Just something that would meet the hours requirement while I look for my next opportunity. I've applied through UTemp and for a few other UW positions, but I'm open to other state agencies as well. Does anyone know of departments or agencies that hire for these types of positions, or have experience navigating this situation? I'd really appreciate any advice or leads. Thank you!
Hey y’all, late last year I went to a local Seattle business specializing in permanent jewelry. The bracelets were sold to me as solid gold, but I was never provided a receipt for the transaction. Later, I randomly checked the google reviews for this business because I began having doubts that the bracelets were indeed solid, and I saw multiple reviews complaining about a lack of transparency in pricing and one particularly concerning one detailing an experience where the police were called on the customers and they were forced to sign a handwritten contract stating they would not leave a bad review. The owner of the business frequently replies defensively with multiple paragraphs, and will also accuse those leaving 1 star reviews of not ever coming into their store since they have “detailed records” of their clientele. I responded to my appointment email requesting an itemized receipt, and after being ignored for a month, I finally received a response after I mentioned I’d be escalating. The owner initially tried to say that their store had no records of me ever coming into despite me making an appointment, so I sent a screenshot of the transaction on my card statement. They then claimed that this was not their business, as the address of the business on my statement was not the correct address of their business. After I asked if they were confirming in writing that this was not their business, and that I’d then dispute the transaction as fraudulent, only then were any records of my purchase attempted to be found. The owner then stated that she could not provide me with an itemized receipt because it was keyed as a custom amount, but said that based on the total the bracelets were certainly not solid but gold filled. Since the owner conveniently did not provide me with an itemized receipt even though these bracelets were sold to me as solid gold, I’m okay with the outcome that I won’t be able to prove that she did sell them to me as solid gold, but this entire conversation just seemed super scammy. The owner frequently responds to negative reviews by saying the customer is lying and they keep detailed customer records, but this was clearly not the case. I also find it extremely suspicious that the owner tried to say that I also did not visit their store based on the incorrect address on my statement, and then immediately backtracked once I said I’d be disputing. Since I have it on paper that she is claiming that their merchant does not use that address, is there any recourse I have or any suggestions on what I can do? I’m fine with being out the money, it’s my own lesson to learn. But if I can help others not make the same mistake I did or protect others from this business’s scammy practices I’d like to do what I can to help. Thanks for any suggestions 🙏
where can I take my partner who’s never seen it?
Hello! I think my wrist may need a referral and/or possibly x-ray. However, in my experience, when I've gone to Multicare, they bill separately for random "physician costs" that aren't covered at all by Medicare. Where can I be seen for a non-emergent wrist injury that hopefully is 100% covered by Medicare?
