Hey y’all! First time post-er here but I’m hosting a pumpkin carving contest at Busy Body, on 6th Ave, this Sunday (10/18) if anyone is looking for something festive to do this weekend! The whole bar is decked out for Halloween. There are themed food and drink specials. And we’re offering a cash grand prize for the best pumpkin! Free to enter! If you want to participate, you can DM BusyBody on Instagram or PM me here. We’ll provide a clean, fully gutted pumpkin and the tools, you just have to bring your creativity. Cheers! 🍻🎃

Update: they’re for sure winter gnats and they’re coming out of our exhaust vent in droves. We taped it off. This flying insect has completely taken over our bathroom the last few days! They look just like mosquitos but aren’t quite. We’ve had all drains covered most of the day, removed the trash, and closed the door, but every hour or so there seems to be about 20 more. They fly slow and are easy to squish. The biggest I’ve seen is about 1/2” but most are closer to 1/4”. Google Images and ChatGPT are saying things like crane flies, wood gnats, or drain flies but I can’t really match any of the photos to my own.

I’m coming in for work for a week and was hoping to taste what the area was known for. I know people talk about the teriyaki. But what is the thing that is more of an if you know you know type of way with locals vs tour food. For example, I am in Boston, and I don’t think most people realize how big regional roast beef sandwiches are around here.

Hi all! I work in one of the medical offices on 116th, and I’m not sure if it’s just confirmation bias or not, but I’ve noticed a LOT of either For Lease, For Sale, or Proposed Land Use Action signs popping up along that street. I moved to Washington just over a year ago so maybe there’s lore I’m missing out on. Does anyone know what’s going on? Or am I just suddenly noticing these signs that have been here all along?
