I lived in the historic Wayne Apartments (then known as the Belltown Funky Studios) from the start of September 2019 through December 2020, shortly before they were torn down. I don't actually regret it. They were honest with me--you'll be here for a year and a half or so, then we'll pay you to move out. I got the tenant relocation assistance money when I left. The landlord was, obviously, a despicable slumlord, but I rarely had to interact with him, and just like the property manager said when he was showing me the unit, I came away with a lot of stories. My apartment was right on top of the back of Lava Lounge and immediately next to the patio of Neon Boots, so until the COVID lockdowns hit, I'd drift off to sleep atop a roar of noise that I could physically feel. Fortunately I had good sleep meds. Anyway, it was $850/month for a one-bedroom in the heart of Belltown in 2019. I'm okay with the deal I got. Here's some pictures I took to document this historic building. I really wish I'd had a good camera and more time and resources to expand on that project. The place felt haunted by the ghost of itself.

Been going through a rough period. Hoping to move to Seattle to train with SANCA & Emerald City Trapeze for a year or two. Maybe next summer/fall 30, moving from Colorado, just me and my cat. Never lived on my own and am excited at the prospect of finally being able to. Any particular advice on how to make this transition smooth? Open to everything, but particularly wondering about housing, work & commute. I have a car, but I hear winter isn't super fun, nor the traffic if commuting by vehicle. Currently I work in finance and make about 56k a year. If I can score a job with about that same amount it would be ideal since I hear it's expensive. Any leads would be helpful in terms of work too. Thanks all! 🤗

Hi, I’m in the market for a genuine leather jacket and would prefer second hand. The thrift stores I go to don’t usually have any in stock or my size and the vintage stores marks the prices up considerably. Any recommendations on where to buy?

Hey everyone I’m in beauty school right now in Renton and have printed flyers to put around town to get models to come in. I’m not from this area, so I was curious if anyone had some recommendations for best places to put flyers up? Examples like businesses with community bulletin boards, parks/sidewalks with heavy foot traffic, tattoo shops, bars? I’ve stopped by a couple tattoo shops so far and they’ve been sweet to take them🙂‍↕️, but trying to get a few more up. Also planning on stopping by the colleges in the area but like where would I put them?? Thanks everyone in advance !!

Hello. We live in an apartment and not sure if our community participates in trick or treat. We want to do it for our toddler. Any idea where we can do trick or treat with him in the Issaquah highlands area?

Meet and chat with other 3D makers on the Eastside at this informal meetup at the Bellevue Library. Consider bringing a recent model you’ve printed or a design you’ve made (whether a great success or an interesting failure). Connect with fellow makers, whether you’re into functional prints or aesthetic prints, a novice or been doing this for years. https://eastside3Dmeetup.eventbrite.com

First Light opened in Belltown nearly two years ago, and apparently the landscaping budget didn't survive construction. While other condos and apartment buildings in Belltown somehow manage to employ staff to keep their sidewalks and landscaping presentable, First Light is still proudly displaying the same bare dirt and plastic planting rings that have been there since opening. Mind you, this is a luxury condo tower where many units sell for well over $1 million. I understand times are tough. After spending seven figures on a condo, there's probably not much left over for extravagant luxuries like plants, landscaping, or basic property maintenance. Perhaps we, as fellow Seattleites, could come together and start a GoFundMe to help these struggling homeowners afford a groundskeeper. Maybe even a shrub or two. The building is called First Light, but apparently landscaping comes second. Thoughts and prayers. 🙏
