I want to bring attention to a situation involving Arthur Dahlen, Angie Dahlen, and recovery organizations operating in the Kent/Seattle area of Washington. According to allegations being raised by former residents and people connected to these facilities, this goes far beyond concerns about the quality of addiction treatment. The allegations include the mistreatment and exploitation of vulnerable people, potential financial fraud, sexual and physical abuse, and serious questions about whether people entrusted with providing care were adequately protecting the individuals living under their supervision. People seeking addiction treatment are often in some of the most vulnerable circumstances imaginable. They may be struggling with substance dependence, homelessness, trauma, or mental health challenges. They enter recovery programs expecting a safe environment, appropriate treatment, and a genuine opportunity to rebuild their lives. The allegations being raised here suggest that some people may instead have experienced exploitation in an environment where they were supposed to receive help. There are also allegations involving financial practices, including claims that vulnerable residents were recruited into telephone-based sales operations and encouraged to open credit accounts or purchase services based on promises that were allegedly not fulfilled. If substantiated, those practices would raise serious questions about whether people seeking recovery were being exploited for financial gain. Perhaps the most disturbing aspect is that people have raised concerns about deaths associated with these living environments and whether appropriate care was provided. Those circumstances deserve serious, independent investigation. Every death warrants a careful examination of the facts, and families deserve answers when they have legitimate questions about the circumstances surrounding a loved one’s death. These are serious allegations, and they need to be investigated. Not every allegation has been independently verified, and claims of wrongdoing should not be confused with current legal findings. But that is precisely why credible documentation, firsthand testimony, official records, and proper legal scrutiny matter. A website has been established to bring attention to the allegations and connect people who may have relevant experiences or information: https://victimsofartdahlen.com The goal is to get information into the open, identify people who may have experienced similar circumstances, preserve evidence, and determine whether there is a broader pattern of misconduct that warrants legal action. If you or someone you know has firsthand experience with these organizations, relevant documentation, or information about their practices, consider reviewing the website and coming forward through appropriate channels. People struggling with addiction deserve dignity, safety, and legitimate treatment. Their vulnerability should never make them easier to exploit. People deserve answers. Families deserve answers. And anyone with credible evidence should have a way to make their experiences heard.

I'm planning to take a short trip to Bellevue on Saturday for a chess tournament and I'm thinking about staying the night so I'll be around the area Sunday morning. Are there any casual chess meetups or places where people play regularly on Sunday mornings? I'm from Portland and would love to get some more games in while I'm up there. Thanks!

Maybe at 8am. Crazy laughable how inaccurate all the weather apps are over the past months but this disparity takes the cake. https://preview.redd.it/7dbdqsq50buh1.png?width=627&format=png&auto=webp&s=c52c6178bbf47950479647963568e79c0efd84c5 Accuweather is both more accurate and less accurate lol

I recently interviewed at the City of Seattle. If I’m offered the job, it sounds like there’s a 12 month probationary period. Considering the City has an enormous budget deficit, if there are cuts, I’m worried that I would be the first to be laid off. Can anyone say which departments would likely receive the bulk of cuts, or perhaps, can offer any insight as to how cuts might unfold? I currently have job security and am reluctant to give up a sure thing.
