There’s a lot of other great food banks, like u district food bank, but I’m recommending Ballard as well if you’re in metro Seattle. They have a lot of fresh, good food and they also have a cafe where they’ll serve you two meals. Today it was split pea soup. It’s just a reminder because people think they have to be in dire straits to use a food bank, but you don’t. Unlike a lot of other places, you don’t have to really stand in line. They let you sit down inside and it’s a really cool atmosphere. The U district food bank has a similar daily cafe that’s really cool.

Anyone know a spot with thin crust FLOPPY pizza? I prefer a soft, thin, chewy, crust. I like big Mario’s, but again, the crust is a little crisp for my taste Sizzle Pie was my favorite, RIP
We've got Seahawks football, Huskies football and... a full closure of southbound I-405 in Bothell. Not exactly the tripleheader anyone asked for. Whether you're heading to the game or just trying to get where you need to go this weekend, you'll want a game plan before hitting the road. Here's the play-by-play: SOUTHBOUND I-405 FULL CLOSURE IN BOTHELL All lanes of southbound I-405 will close between SR 527 and SR 522 from 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, to 4 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12. The following southbound ramps will also close: SR 527 on-ramp to southbound I-405 Northeast 195th Street on- and off-ramps SR 522 off-ramp from southbound I-405 Crews will use this closure to work on drainage, pavement reconstruction and bridge repair as part of the I-405/Brickyard to SR 527 Improvement Project. WHAT ABOUT THE DETOUR? A signed detour route will be in place, but expect additional traffic on surrounding roads as travelers find alternate routes. ALSO ON THE WEEKEND LINEUP: REVIVE I-5 If your travels take you through Seattle, the northbound I-5 express lanes will also close overnight this weekend: Friday, Oct. 9: 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday Saturday, Oct. 10: 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. Sunday Sunday, Oct. 11: 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday Crews will use these closures to complete drainage work underneath the Ship Canal Bridge. The two right lanes of northbound I-5 and the southbound express lanes across the bridge also remain closed around-the-clock. GAME-DAY TRAFFIC The Huskies host Iowa on Friday, Oct. 9, and the Seahawks take on the 49ers at Lumen Field on Sunday, Oct. 11. Between game-day traffic and construction, expect longer travel times around Seattle. The game plan? Check your route before leaving, give yourself plenty of extra time and don't count on your usual drive taking its usual amount of time.
Super niche question. I am coming from out of town this weekend and due to the time zone differences the Eagles vs. Jaguars game is at 6:30AM. Are there any local spots for breakfast or anything else that will have the game on? Thanks!
New to the area and exploring schools. I have heard decent things about the Bellevue school district but highland middle school seems to have mixed feedback (and a low great schools rating). Would love first hand perspectives on that school!
Hey all! Did anyone hear a fog horn going off at regular intervals early this morning (like 4 or 5am)? We moved to the Pt Defiance area a few months ago and we’re still learning about the area.
Just like the title says - Where in this area is your "go-to" for good prime rib? Doesn't have to be only the 3 locations listed in the title. Thanks in advance, friends!
I recently discovered chilaquiles and I’ve fallen in love. I don’t know anything about Mexican food so I would love any recommendations of where I can get the best chilaquiles in the area. Thanks!
Sharing here because maybe you guys will have an answer and can point me what section to look at in the constitution.
I keep seeing this argument from Republicans how the millionaire's tax is unconstitutional because the state constitution prohibits income tax. I read Article 7 even searched for the term "income", and I do not see where it prohibits income tax. Can someone please help me understand where this argument is coming from? It feels like a Republican farse to try and convince people of something that is not true... Edit: I appreciate that we are having an actual constitution here. I found this article which is interesting and shares the history of state taxes: https://dor.wa.gov/sites/default/files/2022-02/06taxhistory.pdf
