hey everyone! I’m the owner of Swoop Scoop, the local pooper scooper service, & I just wanted to tell everyone on here THANK YOU! we recently passed 300,000 yards cleaned, and it came from support from the dog lovers here in town. i started this business with a friend 6 years ago and still remember it like it was yesterday. I was doing social work and just trying to make some extra money on the side. But I never imagined it would turn into what it is today. What started as me out cleaning the yards doing the work myself turned into a real company that now employs over 25 amazing team members. along the way, I also came to realize just how much this service actually helps people. I've been fortunate enough to have so many conversations with you guys in your yards, hearing about your lives, what you're going through, and why you need our help. From elderly homeowners and adults with disabilities to people recovering from surgery, busy families, and people working long hours. i would say that impact is definitely what keeps us going. i know scooping dog poop is not exactly the most glamorous business in the world, but building something useful for people has been incredibly meaningful. And I've found our workers are very proud of what they do, too. It's about an honest of a living as it gets. so again, thank you to everyone in Seattle who has trusted us, supported us, referred us, or even just encouraged us along the way. We really do appreciate it! Cheers to the next 300,000! 🙂

Lock your vehicles, this guy was breaking in to cars around 3rd Ave n and Aloha this morning, police were called but he ran away. 5’9ish and skinny with white and black Nike dunks.
Hi friends, I’m working on a project that can help you get a sense of what your councilperson or the mayor has been doing (legislatively) during their term. The idea is to score and rate their work like baseball players are scored, wherein they get points based on the quality and quantity of their legislative achievements. It makes their tenure easier to understand from a 10,000 ft. view. You can see the council's effect on citywide stats like crime rate or consumer prices, homelessness, etc. The goal is to make the underlying records more accessible so people can form their own judgments. It’s still a work in progress, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on it and what it's missing or hard to understand or whatever. Legisrate.org
Anyone have any recommendations for electric guitar lessons that are affordable?
Fortnite. It was free, btw, just as Jimothy would’ve wanted
Any thoughts on this? “In a statement Tuesday, the school district said none of its staff failed to make mandatory reports to the state, and that district staff members are “well-trained and understand their mandatory reporting responsibilities.”” Someone dropped the ball The payout seems excessive. “Evergreen said the school district’s insurers made the decision to settle, to “avoid the risk of a jury verdict exceeding the district’s available insurance coverage.” https://www.opb.org/article/2026/10/13/49-million-settlement-reached-in-wrongful-death-of-vancouver-teen/
Coming up to Seattle for a week for work and I want to go visit Mount Rainer on Saturday. I know that renting a car is likely the option I gotta go with but is there like a bus or other mode of transportation, maybe. even a tour, that takes you to/back? I have a heart issue so im not going to be hiking but I do want to visit the national park. Thanks y'all!
Hey all, I just inherited a 2007 KTM 450 that needs a full work over. Are there any local shops I can take it to?
I work near Pioneer Square and usually take transit home. I've never been much of a sports person. Couldn't tell you how the Sounders are doing this season. I recognize maybe three Mariners players. Somehow I've become the guy at work who knows when every team has a home game. It started after I clocked out one evening and walked straight into a massive crowd heading toward the light rail. I had no idea there was an event. My usual trip home turned into a whole production involving a packed platform, waiting for another train, and wondering why everybody around me was wearing matching shirts. After that I started checking schedules. Mariners at T-Mobile Park? Good to know. Seahawks at Lumen? Definitely good to know. Concert at WAMU? Better check when it ends. The really annoying part is that it's not always the beginning of an event that gets you. Sometimes everything is perfectly normal when you leave work, and then thousands of people start pouring out of a venue at almost exactly the same time. I have nothing against the events themselves. I'm glad we have them. People are out having fun, businesses are busy, the city feels alive. I just wish I didn't need to follow several entertainment calendars to figure out how to get home from my job. My transit app can tell me a bus is six minutes away. My phone knows what the weather will be tomorrow. But apparently the most important information for my evening commute is whether a concert I didn't know existed is ending at 10:30. I've actually started adding stadium events to my calendar. Not because I'm attending. Just so I know whether I should leave earlier, stay later, or take a different route. I now have reminders for sporting events featuring teams I don't support, at venues I haven't entered, involving thousands of people I will never meet. Is there one decent combined calendar for major Seattle events that commuters can subscribe to? Ideally something that includes expected start and end times. I'd genuinely use it. And if the Seahawks go into overtime, I'd like my phone to apologize to me personally.
Hello, Can anyone recommend a company that is reasonably priced and reliable for maintaining landscape? This includes weeding, pruning, and raking leaves. My elderly parents cannot maintain their large garden. One had a stroke and the other has difficulty walking. I have gone through 7 small companies in the last 3 years. They come for the first time and require a very expensive “clean up fee.” Then after a few maintenance visits they disappear because their first visit was their biggest profit. A referral would be GREATLY appreciated. Independent contractors or small businesses are more than welcome. Thank you so much.
