I recently moved into a house in Finn Hill and this year will be my first time handing out candy. I have no idea what to expect in terms of trick or treaters. To the seasoned Kirkland candy-givers out there, how many candy pieces do you buy? And how many pieces do you hand out per kid? I’m looking to get a rough estimate since I want to buy all the classic Canadian Halloween candy I grew up with (Oh Henry, anyone??) and I’ll be heading there this weekend.

Been seeing ads for rebates to replace heating with a heat pump, but when I reached out to the company they said state law prohibits rebates from switching between energy sources. So, you can get the rebate if going from an electric furnace or electric base board heat to a heat pump, but not if you are replacing a natural gas furnace. That’s completely stupid.

A 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel paused a lower judge’s ruling that ordered the Trump administration to immediately reinstate Roger Rogoff as the top federal prosecutor in Seattle. President Trump ousted Rogoff in July from the U.S. attorney’s office in the Western District of Washington, less than an hour after he was sworn in following his unanimous appointment by federal judges. U.S. District Judge Stanley Bastian, an appointee of former President Obama, sided with Rogoff’s claim that his termination was unlawful and ordered the Trump administration to restore him to the position until a successor is chosen through the Senate confirmation process.

Heyo, spotted a dog this morning near the Laura Ingalls Wilder elementary. Posting here with a picture. Little guy ran across the road and gave me a heart attack. Couldn't pick him up because he bolted into the woods nearby. If you lost your dog check around this area.

This is some wild pricing. I'm usually okay with paying a small premium for convenience, but this has me strongly considering driving somewhere just for gas. The difference between cash vs card also seems unjustified. I'm basically just shouting to the void. RIP my wallet

Hello! I will be in Tacoma this week for a work conference, and want to figure out some fun sights to see while visiting. What are your favorite restaurants, museums, etc. within walking distance of the Greater Tacoma Convention Center, or that are reachable by public transit? I'm an outdoorsy person, so if you have recs for good hiking trails close by, I'd love to hear those too. Thanks in advance!

My daughter is in love with the tamagoyaki at Metropolitan Market and we just watched this reel by Kenji that said you can buy it frozen! So we ran to Uwajimaya in Seattle and found it, but it does not taste the same; its more yolk forward. We bought Atsuyaki Tamago which is manufactured by Kewpie. I didn't find any other brands, but curious if anyone else knows what Met Market uses as buying the little portion they sell is so expensive! Thanks in advance!
