Hi, we recently moved here from another state. I own the car but I dont drive and dont have a license to drive. Husband drives the car. We turned right on red. Do I contest hearing by mail? Or pay 145$ fine right away? or do the declaration of non-responsibility? Im not trying to get away from this. I just wanna know how to do it correctly. Thank you

Hi everyone! Just asking for some advice. So I have an upcoming trip this December, with a 12-hour layover in Seattle. I was planning to leave the airport and spend some time in the city before going back for my connecting flight. My flight lands at SeaTac at around 9am, and my connecting departs at 9:30pm. I plan to start my way back to the airport at around 5pm. I don’t have to re-check my bags since they will be checked all the way through to the final destination so it is going to be a straighforward TSA to terminal to gate sequence when I re-enter the airport. I was thinking I’d just stay in the Pike Place Market / waterfront area. I have never been to Seattle and I have no idea what the weather situation is there in December, so I guess my question is: is it worth it to go out and explore or should I just stay in the airport? Is the traffic bad that time of the year? I’m also worried about the weather like will it be too cold to be out? Appreciate your responses!

I have been having a real dickens of a time finding places that take 1/2 full paint cans, old gallon of gasoline, old car battery. E-waste up north is for electronics. Shoreline transfer doesn’t take any of these things. And the other place king county hazardous waste - i cant find on their website if they take all three. Could someone advise? Ty.

To the mods who removed my post about Jack Lalanne, would you do the same for J.P. Patches? I believed they followed each other on KIRO in the 60s and 70s. Just curious.

Hey everyone, I’m a local founder on the Eastside and I’ve been building Sporkei , a platform for finding and organizing pickup sports around Seattle. The idea came from a pretty simple problem: finding people to play with is harder than it should be. Soccer groups are in WhatsApp, basketball games are somewhere else, pickleball players have another group, and if you’re new to the area you often don’t know where to start. Sporkei puts local games on one map. You can find a nearby game, join it, or create your own. We’re starting with the Seattle / Bellevue / Redmond area before trying to expand anywhere else. I’m not posting this because we need thousands of random downloads. What we really need right now is a small group of local people who will actually use it and tell us what sucks. :) That’s where you can help us. Try Sporkei, create or join a local game, and tell me what you would change. If you already organize a regular soccer, basketball, tennis, pickleball, volleyball, running or other sports group, I’d especially love to talk to you. Even telling us what sport you play and what Seattle neighborhood you’re in would help a lot, because it tells us where we should concentrate the first games. I’m personally reading the feedback and building around the Seattle community, so criticism is absolutely welcome. Sporkei: sporkei.com If people here are interested, I can also create a Reddit-specific Seattle pickup game so we can actually meet and test it together. Thanks — and if you already run a pickup group around Seattle/Eastside, please DM me.

Could the council please idle back on our utility rates raise approvals? Until the economy settles down? Council keeps approving raises for the utilities. I pay $179 per month just for garbage and recycle. And bin rental. I am a single person so it’s the smallest of bins. My electrical, which is how I heat my home….a cadet heater, has quadrupled in the two years I’ve lived here. Ditto water/sewer. I get charged for sewer the same as a family of five. That’s not fair but council approved it. . Now I can’t buy plastic bags for my dogs poop bc council didn’t think the plastic bag ban through. When I order from Amazon it says they can’t deliver plastic here. Fabulous Council. Now what? So now I use doubled up small garbage pail bags. Or have them delivered to a friends house. Beyond stupid in my opinion. No bags, no poop getting picked up 100%. I’ve broken $100 of food bc the paper bags break and my food hits the pavement.

Howdy, I'm one of the people who can't find our street cat, and also my work is stressing me out to the point of burnout/depression. I know I need to get out, and move - but it's really hard to self motivate at the moment. I'm an extrovert, who doesn't have a great support network here - and I've connected with some cool folks on reddit at other times, and other subs. Hehe. Anyway, I'm not looking to talk to people about my trauma or life - or seeking a therapist to walk with. I just need a person, or some people, to get me out and moving since I don't have family or many close friends who aren't in relationships to lean on. I know not everyone understands depression, but I know that those who do - and maybe also just need a buddy to get out of the house will reach out. I have a zoo membership, and am trying to go early mornings to start my day off right. Thanks to all of those who are stable, or have enough grounding to help out some of the lost causes of the world like myself.

Hi everyone! We recently moved back to Kirkland after several years away, and we have a 3-year-old who has really been enjoying all the PNW has to offer! He especially loves parks, exploring, and taking the light rail. We’re located in Kirkland Highlands near Homestead Park. He is really missing his friends from California, and we are hoping to find opportunities to connect and build friendships with other families who have kiddos around his age. He’s autistic, very social, and has a tremendous amount of energy. He tends to really enjoy kids who are similarly active and adventurous, and he loves physical, imaginative play. I have a background as an educator, and we previously ran a beloved home daycare in Berkeley, so we really love the idea of him hanging out with other kiddos again. We’d love to find one or two families interested in regular park playdates, exploring around Kirkland, taking the train together, or just letting the kids get to know each other. If you have a 3–4-year-old who might be a good personality match, please feel free to comment or send me a message. We’d love to meet you!
