I’m here to tell you a tale, not one of peace and tranquility, but one of psychological discomfort and pain. If you walk along 58th st away from the park, you will eventually hear a sound. Then another one. Then three. You may keep walking, head home blissfully unaware of the anguish the residents trapped inside this hell are facing 24/7. The first one started 3-4 months ago. Nothing too crazy, just a single quiet beep. Distant enough to ignore, tune out, not enough to affect your life and sleep. Then came the others. I’m convinced this is CIA level psychological torture. It’s there when I lie in bed trying to fall asleep. It’s there wake up at 3 am. It’s there when I take out the trash or step out to get the mail. It’s there when I leave for work and it greets me when I come back. Sometimes I can forget about it, I get some respite during sleep and I get to go back to just living normally without listening and anticipating the next annoying fucking beeping There is no longer peace and tranquility. There is no more sitting in silence on a Sunday afternoon enjoying my backyard. The fucking beeping is always there. Always. I know im asking too much. I’m convinced it would take an act of god to fix what has gone wrong. 3 separate households would have to find it in their hearts to do something considerate for their neighbors. I know im literally going insane and crashing out but am I the only one absolutely plagued by the three accursed beeps???

Hi everyone. If you were unable to attend last week's inaugural get-together, you can still come to tomorrow's meeting at 6:30! Same location (the Snug at Doyle's). We will be discussing the book's introduction and the general method of analysis to be used on the body of the text. This is still a great time for anyone unfamiliar with this book to hop in without having missed anything substantive. Come join a curious and good-looking group of people on an exegetical journey through an Ozymandian work of economic and philosophical literature!

Does anyone dealt with an honest and reliable garage door repair service? I used to use Reit Way but Richard retired. My neighbor FB page is full of horror stories about other companies.

Deciding to See: The View from Nathan's Bus, a collection of short stories, many of which were published at The Urbanist over the last decade, recently earned the distinction of being a finalist for the Washington State Book Awards. "I'm frankly floored by the success my latest book continues to have [...] continuously bestselling in our city for over a year now, taught as a textbook at Seattle U, and now a Finalist for the 2026 Washington State Book Awards." I wrote them because there was so much life happening in this "lowbrow" space of unglamorous liminal life, so dense with incident and color and laughter and sorrow, and so few artists were transposing it to the "highbrow" space of probing literary reflection, of the word as art form. ~ Ten years of writing down what happens on the bus, off the clock, and now it is a textbook at Seattle U. The route was the research.

Hey folks, Moved to the downtown Kirkland area less than a year ago and am looking to connect with people after work on weekdays. I am 28, married, and open to meeting anyone around Kirkland, Bellevue, or Redmond for a casual coffee, dinner or just grabbing snacks and sitting outside. Logistics: - Timing: Weekdays, starting anytime around 6pm (aiming for 45-90 mins). - Location: Downtown Kirkland, Kirkland Urban or nearby (Bellevue or Redmond also works). Interests: - Fitness, coffee, food, tech and hitting the road (good drive and discovering new places) - Always down to chat about tech, everyday life, travel, or anything you are currently obsessed with - I love listening to people nerd out about things outside my domain. Comment below or shoot a message if you are up for grabbing a coffee or dinner sometime soon!

So my apartment (in Seattle City limits) is income restricted and has what appears to be small cockroaches in my floor's trash room. Our actual apartment unit is COMPLETELY clean, and our trash chutes work just fine but people pile up their garbage so I've seen a few of these critters on the floors/walls/crawling into the trash room crevices to hide. Do tenants have any protections against something like this? Everything I look up is related to having roaches IN my unit, which isn't the case. I can post pictures of it, I'm guessing that's allowed? https://imgur.com/a/g8M3bmz
