I was sitting in a sports field in Woodinville watching model rocket launches when me and the kid launching the rocket spotted something odd floating in the sky. At first I thought it was a model rocket that got hung up on its parachute in an updraft, but the only rocket being launched then came back down and no others were being launched at the time. This thing appeared to be far away, but it was impossible to tell because it wasn't recognizable as anything I've ever seen. It hung in nearly the same place for well over half an hour or more. I checked FlightRadar but it showed nothing. It looked vaguely vertical in shape with the top & bottom ends being brighter than the middle. I'm fairly well versed in aircraft identification and this did not appear to be any kind of aircraft. I thought maybe a balloon but those are typically a long object at the top (the balloon) and payload unit at the bottom, but this had no elongated balloon-like structure above it. It could have been some kind of themed mylar balloon that was closer than I thought, but I thought it was odd that it barely moved position at all. That's probably what it was, but just wondering if anyone else saw it or if they had some binocs to get a better look.

I see a lot of them online but wanted to ask redditors which one they like and why?
The NOAH Center near Arlington has a bunch of puppies that need immediate short term fosters - normally a couple of weeks. They also have a large number of young dogs that could be coming in very soon next week. They will give you food and supplies and assistance and take care of all vet and medicine costs. If you have questions about the requirements, you can check out their website. It's very easy and they are very flexible. It sounds like there are a bunch of animals in a bad situation right now. Can you help temporarily? Do you want to try fostering??? If you have tried this somewhere else in the past or had a bad experience, I promised the people at Noah are the best .Check out their website or send an email and say you want to help with the puppies. Please share! The puppies in the picture are technically available to Foster right now, but in the immortal words of Dwight Yoakam, Things Change.
Hey y'all! I'm a recent transplant that just got here in July and have a friend visiting next week. Went to the dog parade at Volunteer Park today and loved it! What're some local events like that happening next week?
Hello! I am a single 32F moving to Seattle next month and need help deciding where to live. I have a senior dog, I’m bringing my car and my job would be in Capitol Hill/first hill. I am looking at places in north Capitol Hill and Fremont/Wallingford area. I prefer to be close to work to avoid long commutes and close to a park I can walk my senior dog at. Not really into drinking. I really enjoy being active, being outdoors and want to be able to join clubs/groups for outdoor activities (running, biking, hiking). I will need to make friends so want to make sure I’m close to things that would help me meet people/make friends. I’m worried about being surrounded by 20 year olds or party people in Capitol Hill. Just not my scene. Would commuting from Wallingford be that bad? Not sure if I should focus on the neighborhood that aligns with me more vs being close to work. I’d really appreciate any advice.
Did you go to the Volunteer Park Pet Parade today? Did you get any pictures of some of the great costumes? Post your pictures here!
I'm planning to go see Ms. Pat when she comes to Tacoma in February and would be fun to go with somebody rather than just going solo. I'm 42M in Tacoma and into comedy, movies, music, etc. If anyone else is going, I'd be down to meet up beforehand for food/drinks, go to the show together, and maybe hang out afterward and talk about it. Feel free to DM me if you're interested. Here's the event details.

Hello, scratched a chunk of my passenger side rear door panel against a parking column like you do, exposing metal, and I'd like to get it repaired/repainted before the rust sets in. (I've had it for a bit.) TIA for any recs for local shops; home is South Delridge near White Center so anywhere around there or Georgetown, South Park, Burien...
