Did the red lion hotel close? I was planning on staying at this hotel and now my stay was automatically canceled and none of the phone numbers are in service.

Federal Way is in Puget Sound Energy's service area (check your bill to confirm). PSE is owned by six investors, mostly pension funds, based in Canada, the Netherlands, and Australia, all disclosed in WUTC and SEC filings. PSE has a pending three-year rate request asking for electric increases of 15.15% in 2027, 3.74% in 2028, and 8.7% in 2029, tied to over $3.2 billion in infrastructure spending. If you're struggling with your bill, PSE also has income-based discounts of roughly 5% to 45% and a program that can credit up to $1,000. One application at pse.com is supposed to start both. The state utilities commission is holding a virtual public hearing on October 7, and written comments are open under dockets UE-260005 (electric) and UG-260006 (gas) at utc.wa.gov. A comment can be a few sentences about what you pay and what worries you.
Here for our Honeymoon, looking for anything fun! Hi all! My wife and I are visiting from Illinois for our honeymoon (here through Oct 10) and we want to skip the generic tourist list and find the places locals actually love. The more one-of-a-kind, the better. ( Think stuff like the Slightly Furry Beverage Company, places you genuinely can't find anywhere else ) We're especially looking for: - Unique spots/experiences : pubs, quirky bars, odd spots, hidden gems - Coffee : your favorite independent shops, not just the famous ones (Wife loves handmade syrups and local roasters) - Handmade goods & crafts : makers, markets, small studios - Antiquing : best antique malls, vintage, and thrift (we love true-MCM) - Walks/Daytrips : scenic neighborhoods, parks, or trails worth an afternoon - Bakeries : handmade doughnuts, baked goods, etc. - Places to eat/drink : best local bites and breweries (I love local brews) - Any DIY/Scene shows! I’m a huge indie music fan love local stuff We're happy to travel around the area a bit. Any recommendations (or places to skip) are appreciated. Thank you!
Outside of "we review for compliance" fluff one finds on the websites, what does the review staff actually do that can't be done with AI, with a human final review and exception processes in case of variance? Can anyone with actual process knowledge chime in? Sure, field staff that puts eyes on the project is still a need ,but can significant portion of the back office staff be replaced with AI? It would check all the boxes. Reduced permitting costs, timeline, reduced city's costs by eliminating redundant staff in already tight budgetary situation, probably increase effectiveness of reviews.
I just started getting back into running this year and with the rainy season starting to loom I'm wondering how regular runners cope with the wet. I've lived here 20+ years so I'm not allergic to the rain or anything, I just don't think I will make it mentally using a treadmill for the next 6 months. Is that my only real option though? Or do you just own multiple pairs of shoes, or somehow throw them in the drier without destroying them? Do you spend a small fortune on Patagonia rain gear and GTX shoes? Or maybe I'm missing some more obvious option like covered areas or indoor public tracks or something. I'm not some sort of ultra triathlon athlete, just 3-5 mile runs. Appreciate any tips you got.
Most of Renton gets its electricity from Puget Sound Energy, but some parts are served by Seattle City Light (check your bill to see which you have). If you're on PSE, a three-year rate request is pending that asks for electric increases of 15.15% in 2027, 3.74% in 2028, and 8.7% in 2029, tied to over $3.2 billion in infrastructure spending. For comparison, City Light averages about $0.14 per kWh versus roughly $0.17 to $0.18 for PSE, though City Light has approved increases of its own that project bills rising more than 80% by 2032. The state utilities commission is holding a virtual public hearing on October 7, and written comments are open under dockets UE-260005 (electric) and UG-260006 (gas) at utc.wa.gov. A comment can be a few sentences about what you pay and what worries you. Include the docket number. I also looked into who owns PSE and whether the monopoly can be challenged in court. Happy to share what I found.
Hey guys, if I am looking for a Hematology/Oncology dr in Tacoma, where could I find them? I am not actually a patient, I am looking to hire doctors in that area and offer them a part time job. What job boards, avenues would one use to find such doctors who'd be looking for such opportunities?
Most of Puyallup and South Hill gets its electricity from Puget Sound Energy (check your bill to confirm). PSE has a pending three-year rate request asking for electric increases of 15.15% in 2027, 3.74% in 2028, and 8.7% in 2029, tied to over $3.2 billion in infrastructure spending. PSE has said its demand growth comes mainly from EV adoption and building electrification rather than data centers. That describes a lot of newer South Hill homes, with EV chargers and electric heating going in. Some climate tech startups tied to the AI boom are still attracting investors, but deals are fewer overall and times are tougher for companies addressing sustainability issues that don't align with data center needs. Concerns about those trends inspired a one-time Washington state initiative called the Opalene Climate Challenge, which was led by the nonprofit VertueLab. The effort announced six investments from a pool of nearly 40 applicants. Five of the six winners are commercializing technologies developed at the University of Washington or Washington State University. ~ Five of the six came out of UW or WSU, so the public already paid for the research. What it took to get them toward market was a one-time charity pot of $375,000 split six ways, because the investment money in this state is going to data centers instead.
