I’m considering moving to somewhere in the county from Bellingham. I have a good handful of reasons to move away from Bellingham and Snoho county is a lot of things other places aren’t (Thurston too political, Kitsap a navy area basically, King too expensive + populated, Skagit too rural) but I’m concerned there won’t be some significant hippie-ish, folk, more PNW-pride scene, less mainstream America, more community-minded people. Are my concerns valid?

Hi everyone! I’m new to Kirkland and looking for a few local recommendations 😊 1. Yoga classes — I’m looking for reasonably priced yoga classes. I’ve seen places charging around $30/class, which feels a little steep since I already have a gym membership. Would love to hear about any good, budget-friendly options! 2. Salon — Looking for a clean, decent, and reasonably priced salon for things like eyebrows, threading, waxing, etc. I’ve come across places charging $45 just for eyebrows 😅, so definitely looking for something more budget-friendly. 3. Nail salon — Would also love recommendations for a clean, good-quality, reasonably priced nail salon. Thanks in advance! Would really appreciate any local favorites. 💕

Hope it’s alright posting this in here. Looking to move to the area eventually and currently have a career in real estate and a side of property management. Hoping to move out of this path and considering something new. Looking for opinions on what new skillset I should consider to live in the Seattle area and make a decent living. Pretty open to anything and maybe even considering sticking to real estate. So what’s good Seattle? I know the market is tough right now 😬

A 4.9 star rating with over 2,007 reviews? Give me a break lol. I just went there for the first time and there was no wait at noon on a Saturday. The old version, Niku Feast, would have had an hour long wait. Wagyu Factory ruined a good thing Niku Feast started. Its gross how all the meat is just sitting out there like that. The side dishes were super cold and stale. Their pre-made burgers had rock hard buns and mushy middles. The waiter couldn't get our burner lit/hot for 5 minutes. The meat tasted fine but the burner was so hot that everything charred immediately and they had to switch out our grill after like 10 minutes. Then the desserts were absolutely awful. I had a rose flavored mousse which tasted like a bath salt powder, and they barely had any sugar. Then the waiter acted super insecure and asked for feedback about the restaurant. Weird. I've seen tons of tiktok influencers raving about this place, which is out of the ordinary (namely since its not good). I guarantee they are being paid. And then if you look at the google reviews, almost every single one mentions a specific waiter's name. This, to me, signifies that waiters are in some way bribing or garnering reviews in an inorganic way. There's no way this place should have a 4.9 star rating. Screw this place!! Bring back Niku Feast. Its a soulless huge corporation and their art design blows.

Hi all! My wife and I are visiting from Illinois for our honeymoon (here through Oct 10) and we want to skip the generic tourist list and find the places locals actually love. The weirder and more one-of-a-kind, the better. (Think stuff like the Slightly Furry Beverage Company, places you genuinely can't find anywhere else) We're especially looking for: -Unique spots/experiences: pubs, quirky bars, odd spots, hidden gems - Coffee: your favorite independent shops, not just the famous ones (Wife loves handmade syrups and local roasters) - Handmade goods & crafts: makers, markets, small studios - Antiquing: best antique malls, vintage, and thrift (we love true-MCM) - Walks/Daytrips: scenic neighborhoods, parks, or trails worth an afternoon - Bakeries: handmade doughnuts, baked goods, etc. - Places to eat/drink: best local bites and breweries (I love local brews) EDIT: - Forgot to add- - Any DIY/Scene shows! I’m a huge indie music fan love local stuff - Apothecary things! Any places with handmade soaps or oils We're happy to travel around the area a bit. Any recommendations (or places to skip) are appreciated. Thank you!

Hi all. I've taken on sort of a personal project to make maps of beautiful places around USA and today I finished this map of Mount Rainier area. Next I'm thinking Columbia River Gorge, not sure where to post that though. I hope you find this map entertaining. Also I apologize if content like this doesn't fit the sub.

Hey everyone! I’m moving to Bellevue for a new job and looking for a room to rent. If anyone is also relocating to Bellevue/Seattle around the same time, I’d be happy to team up and look for a place together. I’m open to Bellevue or nearby areas. If you have a room available or you’re also looking for a roommate, feel free to DM me. Thanks!

Spotted this sticker on the wall of one of the toilet stalls in the A terminal near gate 21. Only this stall had it and I couldn't find anything that looked like a camera, even looked for IR LEDs around the area. At least they're letting you know they're creeping. 🙄
