does anybody know of a coffee shop, restaurant or bar in the area that’s a relaxing/cozy spot to hangout and read? really anywhere in Snohomish County, but specifically Everett/Lynnwood/Mill Creek area?

Washington's largest utility is asking regulators to approve an increase in electricity rates by 29.3% and gas rates by 19.8% over the next three years. It's also asking to increase its allowed return on equity, or profit that shareholders earn on their investment, from 9.9% to 10.8%. In contrast with the state's ambitious climate laws, the utility is also planning to use nearly $1 billion to maintain and build out its gas distribution system. Puget Sound Energy's electricity rates have already increased this year by 18.85%. [...] Retired people on fixed incomes, low-income households and those dependent on electronic medical devices are among the most vulnerable to another rate increase. ~ The allowed shareholder return goes up, a shut-down power plant gets converted to burn gas by late 2028, and both land on a bill that rose 18.85% this year already. About 100 people stood in line for four hours in Lacey to say so. The commissioners rule in early January, and the next public comment date is October 7.
Hi all, I'm moving to Seattle soon for work and haven't picked an apartment yet. I'm looking at the Uptown / Lower Queen Anne area near Climate Pledge Arena. Budget is around $4k/month for a 1 or 2 bedroom, ideally a newer building on a high floor with good light. I'll be commuting to a place near the spheres. Looking for recs: 1. Which buildings around there would you pick at this budget? Any you'd avoid? 2. How safe does the area feel day to day, especially walking at night? 3. How safe is the walk from there to Centennial Park, both daytime and after dark? 4. What's the commute like from Uptown? Walkable, transit, or is a car needed? 5. How bad does it get on event nights at Climate Pledge (noise, traffic, parking)? 6. What's fun to do in the neighborhood, and what are good day trips around Seattle from there?
I was the driver of the 19, when you got on my bus i complimented your sweatshirt (it was black not white). When you got off the bus you came up and told me I was cute, well the feeling is definitely mutual. I should have given you my number. Hopefully you're on reddit or someone you are friends with is. Thanks in advance everyone!
Please help me find my girl Luna. 💔 I know, a black cat named Luna can be a bit to sort through to find MINE. There is another black cat that roams around the neighborhood who has a bit of white fur along their chest, this cat has a home. MY cat is all black, no bits of white, yellow/green eyes. I’ve had her for over 10 years, she’s still super playful and youthful. She’s friendly but can get scared if you approach her too quickly or chase her, she will run. If you give her some space, she’s much more likely to come to you on her own. She got out on Tuesday 9/29 around 9:30 PM near 64th st & 8th Ave. She doesn’t have a collar. If you see her, please message. If you are able to get her and have capacity to keep her safe until I get to her, that would be lovely. Thank you!
My last three months have been spent capturing the natural beauty of Tacoma. I hope you enjoy it!
I’m in town for a work trip, and am staying near PIKE PLACE MARKET. Looking for a decent place to grab an early dinner that is solo diner friendly (good bar seating or small tables, etc) but is still cozy or has some ambiance. Even better if they have a good happy hour. I like all types of foods, but especially Thai, Sushi, or good pub food. I appreciate the advice!
Isnt this already a felony? Why do we need legislation making something that is already illegal more illegal?
I grew up in the area. I never really noticed class differences and such but have heard that kingsgate was kind of like “the ghetto” of kirkland and I’m interested in hearing from older folks on here what about it got that reputation. I know that area is a bit more diverse in races than the rest of kirkland and not as new looking but that’s where my history of it ends. Was there actually a surplus of crime or anything?
