There's been so many down at the marina lately. They probably know they'll get left over salmon scraps

Heads up, West Seattle neighbors. This morning around 9:15, a stranger approached the fence at Alki Elementary's playground during recess and tried to lure three students away, telling them she had something in her car to give them. The kids did exactly the right thing — they ran and reported it to staff. They were unharmed. SPD is investigating and a case number has been assigned. If you were near the school this morning and saw anything — someone loitering by the fence, a car parked oddly — please come forward: SPD, or the SPS SaferWatch tipline at **206-222-4357** (answered 24/7). Talk to your kids about stranger safety tonight. Those three kids' quick thinking is why this ended ok.

My wife and I recently lost our daughter, and we are needing to sell our home. Looking for realtor recommendations that would take that into account when helping us sell.

The company we used before (Devoted Tree Solutions) was bought by MTS Tree and Landscape. I can't find them in WA's business search and assume it's private equity company. I'd prefer to stay local. Does anyone know of locally owned arborists?

Hi, I’m looking to get some debt n paint work done, nothing too serious. Trying to figure out whether I wanna pay out of pocket or go thru an insurance. Wondering if anyone can rec any body shop I can bring my car into? Collision shops always trying to “replace” rather than repair when insurance in involved, n takes forever. Pix attached for ref. Thank u

Hi all. I've been frustrated with my apartment management and am trying to figure out where I stand in this situation. I moved to Washington only recently so I'm not as familiar with the state-specific laws or who would be good people to contact about this. Long story short, the breaker for my apartment was causing a fire risk and so the power to my apartment specifically was shut off. I contacted my apartment management and they did get started on things within 24 hours (barely...20 hours later, all the food in my fridge had gone bad by then). However they say it's a more in depth fix than they expected. Power was shut off on Sunday, currently Thursday with no power, and I was told to not expect power back until at least the weekend. I've contacted someone through my renter's insurance to cover lost food and accommodations, but I don't want to be paying rent for days when my apartment is legally uninhabitable due to no electricity. I talked to management about getting a discount on rent for the days that there will be no electricity, but she said while she could put in a request, there's no guarantee it will be fulfilled. If the request does end up getting denied, is there anything I can do? The power outage is not technically their fault, but I've only lived in this apartment for a couple of months so I'm frustrated that a fire hazard was missed, I had to wait to get updates, and it will be upwards of a week if not longer before we get our power back. Are there any laws to protect this sort of thing or that would require the apartment management do something? Or am I just screwed if they refuse to discount rent when it's all over?
