Where does one get a no fuss, no extra frills cup of joe in town? Close to Belltown is nice, but any walking proximity to the waterfront, or even downtown is fine too. As a daily coffee consumer, I'm hoping to get a better understanding of the coffee culture here in Seattle. Unlike Frasier or Niles, usually a house drip with some cream would satisfy my taste. I've been to Seattle a few times, never really long enough to form a bond, form friendships, so this is also to gauge a bit of how true the "Seattle Freeze" really rings true. Any recommendations are appreciated. Thank you.

So - I am a 27F, worked in photography, was a former model, and happen to love fashion. I’m trying to start a personal styling business - BUT, what I need right now is a few people, just so I can work out exactly how I’m doing this. It’s free of charge, I literally just need you to let me show up and style you. Girls or guys, I can provide proof of self and my portfolio so you know I’m not just some weirdo showing up. But if anyone is down, please let me know and let’s set something up! Worst case scenario, you end up looking super cool for free.

Can anyone recommend someone trustworthy, licensed, and bonded to carefully remove my lower kitchen cabinets/island, pull up the old "brick paver" style tile that's under them, and then reinstall the cabinets asap. The laminate countertop will need to be removed also, but it will get thrown out not reinstalled (most of the laminate and visible screws already removed). I've already removed the doors and drawers, and the rest of the floor tile that isn't under cabinets, but now have an unrelated injury and can't do the rest. It's a small kitchen with an island . There is a sink, dishwasher, and gas cooktop (so they need to know how to safely disconnect and reconnect the water/gas). There's an electric wall oven in a tall cabinet that hopefully can also be removed, the tile beneath removed, and reinstalled. If necessary, I can remove the tile in-between the cabinet removal and reinstall, if they can't do that part. Location: Tolt Hill (between Carnation and Sammamish)

Members of SEIU 925 voted 83.3% to reject the University of Washington's "last, best and final" contract offer for classified employees, and the university now said it will file for mediation. The vote, which leaves almost 7,000 classified staff without a new contract, puts the union and the university at odds over wages, paid time off and AI protections. The union cited UW financial reports showing $2 billion in unrestricted funds. "We are also concerned that, because of the submission requirements under state law (RCW 41.80), employees may not see wage increases until 2028," Balta's email read. ~ A bargaining unit of 7,000 lab techs, medical interpreters, campus security staff and social workers was handed a two year contract with no raise in it, no wage reopener and no AI language, and 83.3% of them read it the same way. The $2 billion in unrestricted funds is the part the university answers by citing a filing deadline.

hi everyone, yes this is another post about our feline neighbor, willow. i live in the area where he usually hangs out, and as i'm sure you know, if you've seen the other posts, that he's been missing since Thursday, Sept 24/Friday, Sept 25. last seen by one of the houses on the corner of 60th and 17th. since monday, i have been searching the area between 58th and 61st and 15th to 17th during various hours of the day (last night at 11pm, i went all the way out to 20th, but no luck 😞). most recently, i went out this morning between 5am and 6am, but no luck. on some of the other posts, i've seen people say that they've seen coyotes out on their early morning walks. he is also quite curious by nature (i have literally seen him walk into someone's house just because their front door was open). so, i'm thinking that he either got spooked by a coyote and is hiding in a tight space outdoors somewhere or might be trapped in a garage or shed. anyway, this is a long winded way of saying, if you have decks, garages/sheds, wood piles, any sort of tight outdoor space, could you please look to see if you find our orange friend? or, if you have a neighbor/friend that might live in the area and have something like this at their home, could you ask them to check? really hoping we find him not only because he is so beloved, but (hoping to lighten the mood here) he is also due for the monthly flea treatment that i give him, and needs to be given the new airtag that i bought him 🙂

Hi! I'm planning a move from NJ to the Cleveland area and Lakewood is currently my first choice. I'm trying to find a reasonably priced studio or 1 bedroom, ideally $1,200/month or less. My main requirements are: - Cat friendly - Laundry in the building or in-unit - Off-street/lot parking strongly preferred over street parking - Safe area for a woman living alone - Ideally decent-sized windows/natural light in at least one of the main rooms I don't need a luxury building or a ton of amenities and I'm totally fine with an older building as long as it's reasonably well maintained. I've been checking the major apartment sites, but I figured locals might know of smaller buildings, private landlords, property managers, or places that don't advertise as heavily online. I'm also open to nearby areas if Lakewood doesn't work out, especially Rocky River, Fairview Park, West Park/Kamm's Corners, or other reasonably safe areas with easy access to Cleveland. If anyone knows of a building/landlord you'd recommend (or definitely avoid), I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

I don't usually notice the trains too much anymore except last night/early morning when 3 went through in quick succession and seemed unusually loud. I thought maybe it was just the engine coming through. I don't know, I live near Clifton and I was praying for y'all closer to the tracks. 😂
