Zahilay's proposal directs dedicated revenues toward major infrastructure including $198 million for healthcare facilities including Harborview Medical Center and the Central Crisis Care Center opening on Capitol Hill in 2027, $100 million for land conservation, and $64.4 million for the RapidRide R line, alongside $19.5 million to build 612 shelter and housing units. [...] For Zahilay, the two-year buffer basically means the county can still afford to spend while Seattle saves. Wilson's plan would drop $50 million in departmental operating costs by eliminating 128 positions and redirects $173 million in JumpStart payroll tax revenue to prop up core services and homelessness programs. ~ Two governments, one tax base, and the only thing separating a $100 million conservation buy from 128 eliminated jobs is which biennium the shortfall landed in.

Saw one at Northgate and another in Kenmore today. Both intact, no visible wounds or blood, looked like they’re just sleeping on the sidewalk. This is the beginning of some apocalypse movie, right?

Wondering if anyone has any move specialists that are capable of moving a dresser into a bedroom via the second floor window? Our dresser is too large to make the turn into the bedroom through the hallway. I’m on the eastside but figured Seattle must have some “through the window” guys.

wanted to give a quick heads-up about a recent spike in crime around 36 and 37th Ave SW and the Triangle area. Over the past week or two, there’s been a noticeable wave of car prowls, stolen vehicles, and a few local business break-ins right nearby. Has anyone else in the area noticed similar activity, or caught anything suspicious on garage or door cameras recently? Trying to see if this is isolated to a few blocks or part of a bigger trend right now. Stay safe and double-check your vehicle doors tonight!

I am visiting Seattle for a week starting tomorrow, and want to do some of the amazing hikes I have heard so much about. I dont have a car / license, so wanted to check if there are any groups that car pool and go for hikes. I am of course more than happy to contribute towards costs. (Apart from the more common ones, this one sounded quite fun, but I guess it would be quite difficult to get to: https://www.summitatsnoqualmie.com/events/lumina-night-hike ) I know there are guided tours, but those start at ~$300 so would like to keep those as a backup option. Thanks!
