There’s a small wooded area with tall trees right next to my house. It’s not a huge area, but the trees make it easy to hide Homeless people have been coming into our neighborhood, camping out in either their car or pitching their tent even across the street and using the wooded area to do their business. The reason this bothers me is because every time I step outside my house I get a wiff of literal shit since I’m the unfortunate one who’s right next door. Myself and neighbors have obviously been reporting this to 311 and while they get removed, they either 1) come back or 2) a new group comes in. I’m unsure how to go about attempting to get these trees cut down or make the city (it’s their property) do something. Any ideas? ** also sorry if this post sounds insensitive, but this has been ongoing for months and I’m losing my shit dealing with it 😫

Who approved this? Who on earth would go see this at a theatre? Also there’s an extended edition?? From NW Film Forum’s website: This Halloween series is co-presented by Monday Mourning and Scarecrow Video, where every ticket directly benefits the world’s largest physical media archive, so no romance, no comedy, not even New French Extremity, is lost to time. Each Trauma Bond screening features a live Drag pre-show with Miss Monday.

Dealing with a depressed bedroom and need advice. I own a really nice two-bedroom condo. that I share with my roommate. My bedroom is literally an accumulation of two years of depression, just filled with trash and a lot of recycling. I finally decided to get a service to come and take care of it and found one, but here’s the issue: Right now, the building’s trash room contains like 10 recycling bins (pretty sure they cycle with extra bins if they fill up faster) and one huge garbage thingie that gets emptied every week. This is just an estimate, but I have a feeling that I’m going to end up filling up like five recycling bins and 10 to 20 trash bags. The main concierge (who I have a very good relationship with) and the staff here will definitely notice that the cleaning service is throwing away a lot of trash for my unit, and I don’t want to suddenly end up using and filling up space so early in the week. Should I let my concierge know what’s happening? Like, I can offer to rent a garbage service. I’m low-key scared of the judgment and that he’s going to make me show him the room, even though it’s not hazardous material, to him, it might be. I hate that I put myself in the situation. My roommate says I’m overthinking this and says I don’t even need to tell him, but idk. 😢

I live in South Hill, Gem Heights area. I came home around 2pm today and there was a silver KIA SUV with VERY dark tinted windows parked right in front of my house. My adult daughter works from home and her window was open; she could hear someone talking on the phone in a car and she assumed someone was parked in the neighbor's driveway until I pointed out the SUV parked in front of our house. They remained parked for at least 30 minutes. We turned on the sprinklers and they left. Not 10 minutes later a different SUV pulled up and parked in the same spot. This one looked exactly the SAME, long, sliver SUV with dark windows! But this one was a Nissan Armada. We watched from our front window & could kind of see his hands shuffling papers and making gestures as though he was in a conversation. We watched a while and finally my daughter decided to go ask him what he was doing. As soon as she started to walk across the lawn, he left. She recorded him leaving and got the license plate. That turned up nothing online. The thing is something like this happened in the spring. A dark grey or car with dark windows pulled up across the street. At first, we thought it was someone visiting our neighbor, but it was there for a while, and no one exited the car. Then all of the sudden from both directions 3 silver SUVs (with dark windows) pulled up FAST on the car. One in front one of him, one in back and one blocking his door. We thought cops were going to jump out and arrest him or maybe it was ICE. But as fast as they all pulled up, they all took off, even the car! It was so odd! We could see them down the street as they left, two parked for a couple minutes around the corner and they all eventually left the neighborhood. We called the police to see if it was them or another law enforcement agency. They said it was absolutely not them and they had no knowledge of any other agencies in the area. This all seems too strange to be a coincidence. Has ANYONE seen something like this?

The City of Seattle has designated 451 landmarks. I put all of them on one free page. You can search it, filter by neighborhood and type, and use the street map, which is built into the page and keeps working offline once it has loaded. Every landmark links to its ordinance or designation record, and 122 of them are also on the National Register. The Walks tab turns them into neighborhood loops you can do any afternoon: Walk Landmarks Distance Time Downtown & Waterfront 12 0.9 km 36 min Belltown 12 1.0 km 37 min First Hill 12 1.7 km 45 min South Lake Union 12 1.7 km 46 min Capitol Hill 12 2.3 km 53 min University District 12 2.7 km 59 min Queen Anne 12 3.1 km 64 min Ballard 9 3.6 km 64 min Central District 12 3.7 km 71 min West Seattle 9 4.9 km 81 min There are also themed filters: Women Who Built Seattle, Immigrant Seattle, Black Seattle, Japanese American Seattle, Schoolhouses and Sanctuaries. Link (no sign-in): https://mchatai.com/seattle-landmarks/#/w (opens straight to the Walks) Two things to be upfront about: The stop narration is AI-written: it's generated from the City of Seattle landmark designation report and, where there is one, the National Register nomination. Both source documents are linked at every stop, so you can check any claim against the record. I'm the developer. I'm a solo dev here in Seattle, and this is part of my free app, mChatAI. The walks also download into the iPhone app's Map Guide if you'd rather walk with your phone. If you spot something wrong at any stop, tell me and I'll correct it.

I found a magnetic case with a car key in it in the gutter on Edmonds Way near the marsh. I turned it in at the police station. Check under your car and see if you lost yours!

Hi everyone! Really not sure if this is the right place to post this but figured I’d try. I was walking in Eastlake Ave and noticed an injured crow in front of Serafina. I called PAWS wildlife but they can’t come get it. They asked if I could rescue and bring to their rehab center but I am working and can’t do that right now. I’ll attach a picture of the crow. It seems to have an injured foot and some feathers are injured. If anyone could help get it and take it over that would be amazing! I’ll try to get it if I can but I’m hoping someone else could maybe do it. Here is the instructions to rescue - essentially take a towel or sheet and cover the crow, then gently pick it up and place it in a box, close the box, and drive it to their rehab in Snohomish. Thank you!

Hello! First time Reddit poster here.. and honestly it’s a Hail Mary. My mom came to the fair with us on Sunday, the last day of the fair and at one point realized her necklace chain was broken, missing a very special ankh charm of hers from my dad. She did her best to re-trace her steps and I’ve put in a lost and found report/called the fairgrounds incase it gets found by a staff member. However, I know that unfortunately sometimes these things get picked up and pocketed not realizing it’s super meaningful to someone and this was a very sentimental gift she has from when they were teenagers during a hard time in her life. She happened to notice this after leaving the rooftop bar but isn’t totally sure where it broke/fell off. She asked the staff there and no one had seen it, but we don’t live anywhere near puyallup, otherwise I’d go on a hunt for her 😅. So if you happen to be a kind person that found this, would you please let me know so I can get it back to my mama? She’s going through it right now and this would mean a lot. Thanks!
