In a previous post this summer I expressed how incredibly beautiful the Whitehorse trail is from Arlington to Darrington. This morning on a short walk I noticed this sign posted at Haller Park. I’m very excited to see that the county is moving forward with plans to make this trail more accessible and attractive. I’m really looking forward to seeing what comes about in the spring. ST quietly published their 2 Line ridership late last week, the first update since the full Seattle to Redmond connection opened in March. They didn't issue any kind of press release and there was no media coverage. The weekday boardings on 2 Line this year were projected to be 43000 to 52000 per day. June is typically the busiest month for Link, and we had the World Cup in town which we were assured would mean packed trains. None of that helped because 2 Line only had 17,221 boardings per day, a shortfall of 66%. Last month didn't even hit 14,000 boardings, a massive 73% below the target. The gap will widen over the winter months where Link ridership usually drops to it's lowest point. There is no way this $5 billion dollar project is going to hit projections. How long til they announce a budget shortfall and need more money for their next train? https://preview.redd.it/hizfppdx4ash1.png?width=533&format=png&auto=webp&s=2e491d33540b8b096d4dc4e9f66c391acceb82b1 Sources: https://www.soundtransit.org/ride-with-us/system-performance-tracker/ridership https://www.soundtransit.org/get-to-know-us/news-events/news-releases/sound-transit-breaks-ground-downtown-redmond-link Edit: For people who are saying these are "old models" pre pandemic, that is true, they are from 2019, but ST has continued to use these numbers up until March of this year. e.g. March 2026 "According to Rachelle Cunningham, Public Information Officer with Sound Transit, “Sound Transit expects 50,000 daily boardings on the 2 Line between Lynnwood and Downtown Redmond stations."

Tonight: Archeology and Ice Cream is at City Hall from 6:30–8 p.m. It’s free and family-friendly, with the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe sharing about local history and protecting cultural and natural resources. Plus, actual ice cream. For local teens: Redmond is holding two drop-ins this week to hear ideas for the future Teen Center — Wednesday at Redmond High School , 2:30–4:30 p.m., and Thursday at the Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village, 6–8 p.m. Saturday night: HopeBridge Asian Culture Night is a free event at Redmond High School with cultural performances, food and open dancing. The ticket page doesn’t list a start time yet, so I’d check it before heading over. I put together Redmond Beat , a free weekly email where I round up more local events and useful Redmond happenings: subscribe here . What else is happening around Redmond this week that people should know about?
Hey all! Urgent Care RN here with an important announcement - Covid and Flu Season is here and it is virulent! I commented on a post a little ways back stating that Covid/Flu Season started early this year. In short, it started in mid-August and has only picked up from there. I fear we are in for a rough next 5-6 months. Maybe longer. For the past month, we have seen about 5-6 positive covid and/or flu tests a day. Sometimes more. Sometimes less. Last week, 50% of patients coming in for respiratory related symptoms tested positive for flu or covid. It is here. Get vaccinated. Wear a mask (N-95) when out and about. Wash your hands before touching your face. Cover your sneezes and coughs. Buy covid/flu tests from amazon or your local drug store. Test yourself if you feel sick. Typical symptoms we are seeing are: fever, cough that can range from mild to hacking, sore throat, body/muscles aches, fatigue, upset stomach with/without vomiting, loss of taste/small, confusion/brain fog Typically, Paxlovid can be prescribed up to 5 days after symptoms have appeared (per my clinicians) - example, you started feeling symptomatic on the 20th, you can get Paxlovid up until the 25th. Anything after 5 days and Paxlovid is much more likely to not really help reduce your symptoms/the duration you are ill. Now is not the time for your anti-mask / anti-vaccine bullshit. Please be safe and keep each other safe! Disclaimer: this is NOT medical advice. I am just an idiot on the internet trying to help. Please seek care with your PCP, an urgent care, or ER if needed.

I left Seattle before I could use my last CityPass ticket and I’d hate for it to go to waste. The ticket is admission for ONE ADULT to ONE of the following experiences and MUST BE USED BY OCT 2ND: Chihuly Garden and Glass, Argosy Cruises Harbor Tour, Museum of Pop Culture (MOPOP), Woodland Park Zoo, The Museum of Flight, Seattle Art Museum, and Sky View Observatory I am back home on eastern time so I will randomly select a winner today (9/28) @ 8pm EST. To enter, comment with your favorite childhood memory. One entry per person only.
Anyone know anything about the 'Recharge District' project slated for 4425 164th St SW? I went looking for something completely different on maps and saw that this has a name now. The FB is all AI and says that even in June they would cater your event. It's an empty fenced off lot. I dont think they will be catering anything, at least not there. I live right around the corner, and I am really interested in the development that could be going in there. It is technically outside of the city limits by a sidewalk, so I cant even ask them. I could go to the Snohomish County Council, I suppose, but they seem wholly uninterested in this part of town. It looks to be an AI centered shopping/charging/robotaxi focused place? That's what their FB says anyway. I dont think I want a robotaxi place RIGHT THERE where the infrastructure is a 'its not ours' problem for Snohomish and Lynnwood. It's also far enough from everything that I just dont think I get it. What do you guys know?
Recently moved to the area and looking to find a men's salon or a salon in general that is comfortable with men's hair. My previous hair stylist/barber told me I should look for the following since that was what she was doing to my hair before. Looking for a place that does the following: Scissor cut all over Taper out neck and sideburns Point cut the blend zones The place could be in Kirkland, Bellevue, Redmond, Seattle, etc. I'm flexible on that front. Thank you for any info!
