Good morning! It's time for another City Council meeting. This week we have a slot for public comment - written, through zoom, or in person. It's a good time to get your thoughts in and Council just has to basically listen. It's not a dialogue, it's simply your comment entered into the public record. There are a couple of proclamations - and these are frequently moving. Domestic Violence Awareness month and Indigenous Peoples Day are the ones at this meeting. It's budget season so there will be another budget hearing. It looks like this one is to do with priorities. Utility rates will be discussed later, last week there was an understanding that they likely will not raise for the next year but will after that. The controlled substance ordinance from last week is back on the agenda. It looks set for approval. I'm not sure Council settled on what it would change last week, but maybe they did and I misunderstood. Always possible. Lastly, there is an executive session about legal matters. Come one, come all. Attend in person at Council Chambers on 44th, watch the livestream or watch the archive later. City Council Meetings – City of Lynnwood
I hope I'm the only one dealing with goofy drivers like this, I just wanna get to work and back home safely... If only the train was closer.
Our library. Our team. Our union. If you haven’t heard, the staff and librarians at Lakewood Public Library are in the early stages of organizing our own union! You’ve seen CPL, the Cleveland Clinic, and the Cleveland Orchestra in the news fighting for what they deserve - it’s our turn!!! We, the front line staff at the Lakewood Public Library, love our community and our patrons and providing the programs, resources, and community space that you all deserve!!! As a team, we want a seat at the table when it comes to things that affect our daily lives. As we continue our drive to organize, we hope the community will support and show up for us as well. We’re asking that our patrons and community members show their support for our efforts by wearing purple, emailing the LPL board and/or director, showing up with us to monthly board meetings, or just simply letting us know you stand behind us when you visit (we’re wearing purple too!). The next board meeting is on Thursday, October 08, 2026, 7:00 p.m. at the Madison Branch in the Meeting Room. We would love to see our community show up in support. You can also email the board at: [email protected] . Or you can email [email protected] , the emails will get sent to management (but seen by staff before!). 😉 As we move forward, our hope is that our management team, director, and LPL board will be cooperative, fair, supportive, and transparent in this exciting new adventure for Lakewood Public Library’s front line staff. We love to care for our community every day! You guys rock!!! 🤘 Thank you to those of you who have already sent emails and worn your purple (or come to a board meeting!)!!!!
And over the past 6 months the general consensus I get from actual Seattle zip code residents, is, that they really dislike the amount of unhoused and unhinged people on the sidewalks, in grocery stores, shopping centers, and “tent towns”. Also the gangs and prostitution. When I run for Mayor, and unseat Katie Wilson, she’s a very nice person, whom I’ve met twice. However, under my leadership, the streets will be safer, you will not be allowed to just live on the sidewalks. I will sign Executive Orders to sweep and charge those living on the sidewalks, idle RV’s not registered to a Seattle address will be impounded, tent towns will be illegal, arrested and charged, no same day get out. I will push for Seattle DA to make shoplifting a felony, theft of all kinds a felony with substantial jail time. Gangs throughout Seattle, I will sign another Executive Order to document all gang members, a curfew for minor residents ages 10-17, failure to obey will result in the parents being held responsible with extreme penalties, also I will push for gang enhancement laws, you want to be in a gang and terrorize, significant time will be added to your sentence and you can terrorize from behind bars. Open drug use will be outlawed, they will be taken off the streets and arrested. Prostitution throughout the city, will be finished, those being human trafficked will be removed, arrested, those that choose, will be placed in a program. The men behind human trafficking, they will be punished severely, I will push for DA to pursue enhancement charges that will put them in a Washington state prison for many years not just King County jail. All wasteful spending I will address, vigorously, in detail, line by line, and it will be eliminated. No health and human services will be cut, however, other agencies where waste is found, will be cut significantly, and positions will be eliminated. I think this city is the greatest in the West and the greatest in our United States, it’s time, it starts looking like it. I’m not a Republican, though I have many Republican friends, I’m a younger Democrat, late 30s, raised by much older POC moderates. I’m a regular working class citizen, looking to bring common sense leadership to city government.
Archive: https://archive.ph/Ws3pq Some Highlights: It will be near-empty for a long time. Early data models said if housing and jobs didn’t pour in, as few as 1,100 people a day would board a train at Pinehurst, far below industry standards. Seattle had a full decade to plan for nearby blocks of apartments or condos to make the $240 million station more useful, but none of that construction is underway. Sound Transit once hesitated to build here. Early data models said if housing and jobs didn’t pour in, as few as 1,100 people a day would board a train at Pinehurst, far below industry standards. But agency leaders acquiesced to the doggedness of one Seattle City Council member, Debora Juarez But rezoning is on hold..the effects on trees and streams citywide must be examined first. Juarez threatened to publicly oppose the ST3 tax vote if it omitted Northeast 130th...The cost estimate of $65 million looked cheap enough to not freak out her transit board colleagues, who hoisted it aboard the ST3 plan. ..$240 million now Former transit board member David Baker, who served as Kenmore mayor, once called the station useless, and still thinks so. Even though Bellevue meticulously created the midrise Spring District for tech firms and workers, a meager 1,128 average passengers per day caught trains there in August.

Probably a silly question but there are ao many and I never go to a barber, so now I admit my beard must be rather hard to tame. Have a wedding coming up so I am new to the art of barbering. Do I need to make appointments in advance? And there are so many shops. Guess it's an overwhelming search. Advice?
anything fitness or movement related, yoga, anything that has instructors that love & play edm?!??????
I signed for my first physician job at Evergreen Health in Kirkland. It was a perfect fit for me. I have been to Seattle several times to see friends and thought the Montlake area was lovely. I am really interested in the whole reverse commute ordeal. It looks like I would be hopping on 520 to 405 every day. Google maps is putting this as a 20-30 minute commute one way. My question is: how often and likely are there to be delays? Has anybody done this commute or something similar and regretted it? Any other Seattle neighborhoods that might be better for this? I thought downtown Kirkland was a bit better than I expected, but it otherwise felt like anywhere USA suburbia. I would much rather live closer to friends in the city proper, but I also hate the stress of commutes.
