Is Ballard Avenue (where The Tractor, Hattie’s and Farmer’s market is) considered historic , keeping developers from tearing down the old brick buildings to build mixed use condos or large buildings? Or does WA state law apply everywhere and anything old can be torn down and replaced?

In 2011, voters rejected this very same [...] sales tax increase by more than 10 points, a decision that led to a catastrophic 35% service cut. Pierce Transit leaders ultimately decided to advance a significant reduction in Pierce Transit's overall service area, with DuPont, Sumner, and Bonney Lake fully dropped. [...] Voters once again said no – but that time by a painfully close 704 votes out of more than 200,000 ballots cast. With the 0.3% increase to Pierce Transit's sales tax rates that voters will be asked to approve on November 3, in return they'll see a bus system that is able to grow by 49% compared to current service levels. [...] By the time the service adjustments are fully implemented, no Pierce Transit bus routes would operate less frequently than every 30 minutes. ~ The county executive says more than 15,000 people turned in a 2012 ballot and skipped the transit question, in a race decided by 704 votes. That down-ballot line nobody reads is what took 250,000 annual service hours out of Pierce County.

Does anybody here work at/previously work at/know somebody who works at Bazille in Nordstrom? I’m trying to track down the olive aioli recipe… I’ve tried to recreate by taste and tried some recipes online but none come close to nailing it. Any help appreciated 🙏🏼

First we had Dave’s Hot Chicken, which I was fine with. Now we have Houston TX Hot Chicken, then Super Chix, and Starbird opening all within three months of each other. I thought the chicken sandwich craze ended with Popeyes in 2019. Lol. I’ve had Houston and Super Chix, and both were mediocre. I expect the same from Starbird. Can we get a CAVA instead? 🙏🏻

Hi! Looking for some apple picking recommendations. I’ve never been and thought it could be a fun family activity. Please let me know if you’ve had any fun experiences at any local-ish orchards. Willing to drive a bit. Thank you!

I’m coming up from Portland to spend the night in Seattle with my girlfriend for our four year anniversary. Looking for some upscale, intentional restaurants to get a really good meal at. As long as it’s under 200 for two people before tip it should work great! Open to any kinds of foods. Thanks !!
