Hi my friend bailed on me to hike Black Peak on Thursday but I am still so down to go do it on Thursday or Friday. I dont fully trust myself yet to go solo and am looking for someone that is down to also go climb it. Im not a super advanced climber, definitely intermediate and am trying to climb more peaks. Did Stuart a few weeks ago with a friend and it kicked my butt. Im a 24 year old male and will not go very fast lol. If interested my instagram is cadestuart. This is also my first reddit post so idek if im doing this right. Cheers

It’s my ten year anniversary next month and I wanted to do something special for my husband. We live about two hours from Seattle so haven’t visited much, but am interested in maybe doing a nice restaurant with cocktails or a speakeasy maybe. Any recommendations?? Thank you!

Anyone have recs for hot yoga that has options early morning and evening, plus doesn’t break the bank? I know, I may be asking for too much lol.

I know there’s a Halloween pub crawl happening on Friday, October 30, but I’m wondering what the nightlife will be like on Halloween night itself (Saturday, October 31). Will people still be dressing up in costumes and going bar hopping around Ballard? Are there any Halloween-themed bar events happening that night? My friends and I are planning to go out in costumes, grab some drinks, and enjoy the Halloween atmosphere. Just curious if Saturday night will be as lively as Friday!

Hey! I was in a commercial when I was a kid, and have spent several nights trying to find a copy online (reddit, YouTube, etc.) with no luck. Here's what I remember about it: There was a conga-style line of children trying to ice skate. I was the kid at the back and fell, taking the entire line of children down with me except the girl in front (my sister, naturally), who skated away with barely a turn of her head. The brief clip of this happening is the part I've been offered bribery to share. I remember a man explaining to us that they were going to be recording everyone who went ice skating to make a commercial for something happening with Ronald McDonald House (the charity), but I can't remember if the commercial was primarily for charity, or the rink itself. I'm reasonably certain it was a local commercial. My mom says the only thing she remembers is that it happened in Redmond. I have the fuzziest of fuzzy impressions that the ice rink was somehow attached/adjacent to a large mall, but that could be entirely wrong. I think there might have been a brief mention of it on the evening news (KOMO/KING, but we usually watched KOMO), but it definitely aired in commercials and I remember my dad pausing a recording of it to critique every painful aspect of it with my grandparents. I'm also pretty sure my mom did away with my dad's accumulation of tapes many years ago. I intend to collect my bribe in cat pictures, and am happy to share a finder's fee of the same! I know it's a super long shot and I apologize if there's anything I did wrong in the posting, but I appreciate any leads anyone may have :)

I just turned 18 and I’m looking to purchase a suit for myself because thats how I want to treat my ”adult” self. I’m young though, and I’m on a tight budget of probably $350. I’ve gone to suit stores like Men’s Warehouse or Macy’s and all of the suits I’ve been shown are either made with that awful polyester material or have that boring slim fit (no hate to anyone that wears slim fit suits, I just want something that’s loose bc it fits me better). My idea is that I should probably go for a used suit that’s a nicer quality and then bring it to a tailor. I’m just struggling to both find a place that sells used suits, and a tailor who’s in my price range (and actually wants to help me out). I‘m not even sure that I’m taking my own measurements correctly. if anyone knows a good place to start or a good person in the area that could get me on my feet I would greatly appreciate any leads. Thank you everyone!

Was just in SF for a week and it was so much cleaner and safer than Seattle outside Tenderloin. Even SOMA cleaned up. Didn’t see any tents or addicts for miles and miles of walking downtown SF. The city was vibrant too and retail seemed thriving. I have never felt so carefree as I was in SF last week, meanwhile I’m now constantly on guard walking around downtown Seattle and Belltown. Even in the daytime. It used to be the reverse between SF and Seattle. Since when did progressivism in Seattle meant being so averse to pragmatic results and maintaining nice public spaces? Shootings daily now, even in Kerry Park this past weekend. Tents now about as bad as peak Covid after years of improving under Harrell. Do progressives not understand their policies are hurting the lower and lower middle class the most? Rich people have the means to leave and live in isolated enclaves like Madison Park and Olympic Manor. The poor have to deal with meth crazed addicts on the bus, in our parks and streets. Mom and pop businesses with razor thin margins have to deal with another broken window and rising insurance premiums. Somehow none of these people count in the progressive worldview. It’s actually cruel at this point. The Seattle city council and our mayor need to go take a field trip to SF and learn from them. Put the ideology aside and actually deliver for the public.
