Spent a Friday in Seattle by myself and honestly really enjoyed it. Started the morning grabbing coffee and just walking around the city with no real rush. I made my way through Pike Place Market, tried a few things to eat, looked around the little shops, and just took my time enjoying everything around me. Later I walked along the waterfront and stopped a few times just to take in the views. Seattle is one of those places where I didn’t feel like I needed to constantly be doing something. Just walking around, exploring different streets, grabbing food whenever something looked good, and enjoying being on my own was enough. By nighttime I was tired but still wasn’t ready to call it a day, so I found a place to sit for a while, have a drink, and enjoy the atmosphere. It actually ended up being one of my favorite kinds of days. No rushing, no trying to keep up with anyone else, just good food, beautiful views, and a Friday in Seattle completely to myself

Just 45 projects have used that incentive since it launched, according to SPU. In that same time, SPU has issued 750 demolition permits for single family homes alone. [...] According to one study, when reclaimed wood is used in a project instead of virgin timber, the net demand for energy is 13 times lower and the total emissions are five times lower as well. In 2016, Portland became the first city in the nation to establish an ordinance requiring deconstruction, specifically on all buildings built before 1940. [...] In contrast, Seattle still relies on an incentive, which has been used sparingly thus far. ~ Forty five out of 750. Portland stopped asking nicely in 2016 and wrote a rule. Seattle is still offering $6,000 and hoping.

One of my close friends told me some bars and dispensaries won't accept a vertical ID even if the person is 21. Is this true? Will a passport be foolproof and allow me to get into any bar, club, or dispensary?

This has been my go-to Olive Garden for a while, so I'm honestly a bit gutted writing this. Went today, by myself. Got there around 3:10 PM and wasn't seated until about 3:45, so roughly a 35 minute wait, and ended up at a bar table. Ordered the cheese ravioli (lighter portion) and the salad. Halfway through the salad I noticed a fly sitting on a tomato slice. I'd already eaten about half the bowl. Photos attached. I showed my server, she said sorry, and I asked her to cancel my order. I then called the manager over and showed him too. Same thing, just "sorry." Nothing else offered, no real concern. I left without eating. Maybe I'm reading into it, but I got the feeling that because I was a single diner, it wasn't worth their time to deal with properly. I'm not trying to say this place has a food quality problem based on one salad; stuff happens in kitchens. But an insect in the food should get more than a shrug from a manager, and that part is what actually put me off. Also not thrilled about having eaten half of it before I spotted it. Anyone else had issues at this location, or was this a one-off?

Robby Tonkin and Chris Tonkin ruined Taco Time. These inexperienced kids were gifted a decent sized business when they were around 30-years old in 2011. These rich dopey kids from Fairwood (kind of like a poor version of Sahale, but still totally affluent) then tried to jump on the suburban craze of fireplaces and an open kitchen for what was really just a step above McDonald's because they didn't know any better. Then, someone advised then to start gobbling up the restraunts of their franchisees to take corporate control, basically spiking a fastfood dinner for two to $30 by 2018. Maybe they blame COVID still, but it was their idiocy (you can't even call it leadership) that resulted in what is absolutely crap for the price. Fuck their Mexi Fries, or whatever they are labeling salty tater tots now.
