I’m on a mother daughter trip(staying in Kirkland) but have a rental car. What are some things to do on a Saturday night? We’ve never been here, TIA!

Hi! My boy Ollie can only stomach the royal canin dry kitten food in the pink bag, I purchased a new batch this past week and it’s making him violently ill (3-5 pukes a day). We have a small jar of the old batch and it doesn’t cause the same discomfort. I’m in south king county but will literally pick up anywhere. If you have extra of this exact type of food (it needs to be from a batch sold 2+ months ago) I’ll happily take it off your hands. Edit: if you have some of the old batch I’ll happily trade you some of the new batch for your kittens. Shout out to u/ nightcheese for providing half a bag, if you happen to have some that matches and you can part with please I’ll take it off your hands. Edit 2: so many of you have been so kind and replied/DM’d me with offers and advice. I just got off the phone with Riley from Pet Pros in federal way who spent time hunting down the shelf life info to find the sku of the original batch and they luckily have a giant bag in stock still. They set the bag to the side for me and I am able to go get it. Thank you all for the help. If you happen to be moved and have some food left over that doesn’t work for my needs, please consider donating to RASKC or other rescue programs/emergency vet services as they likely need it. Also animal accepted shelters for homeless/domestic survivors and food pantries often accept donations of opened foods, please consider donating to them. Thank yall again. I’m glad we have a happy interlude to a tough journey.
I am searching for which hair salon Brandi, who used to work at Sharkey's Cuts for Kids in Woodinville, moved to. We had the haircut for our son with her 2 months ago and when I called today they told me she no longer works with her. The reason I am looking for where she works now is because we have a 19 month old toddler who hated the previous 2 haircuts before we had a haircut with her, and she had very deep knowledge about how toddlers feel, plugged us into the process and overall made our son comfortable so that he didn't cry / show distress the entire time and basically went along with the process and sometimes even had fun, compared to the previous 2 experiences in which he hated it and the hairdresser didn't really seem to have expertise in how to make him comfortable or what we should do to make it better for him. She took us from feeling like we'd rather be anywhere else in the world when we arrived for the 3rd haircut to not being afraid / dreading the next haircut.

What became JarrBar in Seattle? This was my gateway into tinned fish as a menu item of its own, rather than survival food. I heard it permanently closed last year. We are visiting the area btw Sept 22 to Sept 26, so we’re starting to pull together our must visits. Are there any spiritual successors? Google says Barnacle in Ballard or Top Dead Center in Greenwood. Do Seattleites consider these as good tinned fish spots?
Puyallup is a small city that offers cozy views; I guarantee there's a spot for everyone here to relax and enjoy the scenery.
We need more ice and federal government in this state.
If you are from Everett and its surroundings and need a trusted painter, please let me know. I'm here to serve you
My partner and I have called Seattle home for many years and it's been great. We've built our lives here, made friends, and genuinely loved this city and the mountains for all that they offer. But lately, we're seriously reconsidering whether to stay. Like many in professional fields, we're watching the new state income tax proposal closely, and honestly, it's making us think about whether our future is still in Washington. Even if this gets repealed in Nov, I feel like there will be yet another bill in a few years' time. And it's not just legislative proposals, it's the pattern behind them. Recently, the Supreme Court struck down a voter-approved initiative on a technicality, which just reinforced a feeling that our voices aren't actually being heard. When decisions get overruled on procedural grounds despite clear voter intent, it makes you wonder if our voices or vote even matters. Combined with inflated housing costs, property taxes, general cost of living, it's just starting to look less attractive. We're not the first to have these conversations, and from what we're hearing in our circles, we won't be the last. The skilled workforce that's been a huge part of Seattle's growth seems to be getting priced out and taxed out at the same time. I know this isn't a problem that affects everyone yet, but I think eventually it will. So I'm genuinely curious: If you're in a similar boat and considering leaving, where are you looking at? What cities or states are actually penciling out financially while still offering the quality of life Seattle used to provide? And if you're staying, what's keeping you here despite these challenges? Places we considered include Utah, Texas, Colorado, and DC due to our jobs. Would love to hear from other long-timers in this community about how you're weighing these decisions.
