This cat showed up in our yard with no collar, is anybody missing them? Very friendly and soft, accepted food readily. We can't take them inside as we have other animals, but if you know who's cat this is DM me!

Hi Fellow Gorge Peeps! Can you please direct me to the local gays? Feel free to DM. I (47, late bloomer) I live in the HR/WS/TD area, in a deeply un-queer community. My local friends are wonderful, but aggressively straight. I long to be amongst my people. Is there anywhere Gorge WLWs congregate? A social event? A club? A coven? A story hour at the library? Please don’t say Home Depot. Or the U-Haul place. Or “Everywhere! It’s Oregon!” I already checked. And even very nice people would pay me not to be on their softball team. Thanks!

Idk how [u/]( u/sleeplessinseattl )[sleeplessinseaatl]( u/sleeplessinseattl ) went viral, but a couple things are worth pointing out. First, being a real estate agent means nothing. I say that as someone with multiple broker licenses in multiple states (educational/ experience requirements above an agent). The barrier to entry in this industry is incredibly low, and plenty of licensed agents barely do any transactions at all. We don’t even know if the person who wrote that post has done any. The top comment is also right. Real estate commissions are too high for the value most agents provide. The industry has spent decades pretending getting a license makes someone an expert, and consumers pay for it. I have a degree in economics and accounting and I still wouldn’t pretend that talking to a few hundred clients gives me the ability to predict whether Washington is heading into a recession. The sooner people realize that real estate agents have a low barrier to industry and don’t add significant amount of value enough to justify 2.5%, the better. As far as the post goes, there are legitimate concerns about Washington’s economy, tech employment, housing affordability and cost of living. But anecdotes from one agent aren’t economic data. If we want to argue WA is heading into a recession, let’s look at the actual numbers. And if we actually look at the data, it’s not nearly as clear as this post makes it sound. Washington unemployment just fell for the second month in a row, from 5.2% in June to 5.0% in July and 4.9% in August. The number of unemployed people statewide fell from about 209,000 in June to 197,000 in August. Seattle/Bellevue/Everett unemployment also declined. Washington also has 14,900 more jobs than it did a year ago. That’s only 0.4% growth, so I’m not pretending the economy is booming, but that’s very different from evidence that we’re already falling off a cliff. Even the housing data is more “slowdown” than “collapse.” August sales were down 7.6% year over year and prices were down 2.3%, while inventory increased 22%. That’s a softer market and clearly better for buyers, but none of those numbers by themselves establish a recession. There absolutely are warning signs. Washington unemployment is still 4.9% versus 4.1% nationally, August payrolls declined, tech has been weak, and the labor force has shrunk somewhat. Those are legitimate things to discuss. But “my clients are complaining about groceries and gas and some tech workers I know are unemployed” is not how you determine whether a $900+ billion state economy is entering a recession. Maybe WA enters one. Maybe it doesn’t. The current data is mixed. That’s the entire point.

Just watched 5 masked ICE agents take two men away on Midvale between Roosevelt and 145th right next to the Las Margaritas parking lot. They were taunting the 5-6 people watching and recording. True scumbags. They were in two blacked out vehicles, a newer Tahoe and a Dodge Durango. Only got the plate of the Durango.
