Disclosure first: I help organize this free event through U District Advocates, a volunteer 501c3 in the University District. TONIGHT - Friday September 18 at The Square at U District Station, 4301 Brooklyn Ave NE. Hockey Teeth at 6:00 PM, then Grease on the outdoor screen at dusk, in the sing-along version with lyrics on screen. Free. Lawn seating, bring a blanket or a low chair. The venue is directly above U District light rail, so it is easy to get to from most of the city without parking. This is the second of four Fridays. September 25 and October 2 follow, and the October 2 finale starts earlier at 4:30 PM with two acts. Funded by 4Culture, Amazon. Movies screened by Scarecrow Video. outdoors.udistrict.org

Mood: got dumped by a girl I thought might've been the one. I'm also on call for work this weekend. Needing something to do tonight and tomorrow in the presence of other people where I can possibly make some new friends. Since I am on call, I need to be able to hear my phone if it rings. Willing to drive outside of Everett. Maybe a game night or something, idk. I'm younger 20s, live in downtown Everett, and am not so progressive as people in Everett - not to say I can't get along with anyone. Open to any and all suggestions. Thanks everyone!

Exotics Car Show at Redmond Town Center , 9–11 a.m. Free, weather-dependent. Arts in the Park at Downtown Park, 4–8 p.m. Free performances and local vendor booths. Ganesh Utsav is also at City Hall Saturday and Sunday, with free entry, food, and cultural programming. Anything else worth checking out this weekend?

This is the one at Lakewood Transir Center. I've used it once. It was a little dirty but it's good for desperate times. I've seen a pump truck come to empty it's tank and do internal cleaning a few times.

Hello Eastsiders - looking for another employed chill guy on the Eastside who’s lease is ending in maybe November or December? I have a house I’m currently renting in a great location of Kirkland that is perfect as a house-split. I don’t really want more than 1 housemate but I’m open to discussing if you have a buddy you already live with etc. Message me if you’re interested and we can chat or I can send the link for the rental. Thanks all!

Sano Cafe announced they were closing on 9/26. No reason was provided and it was noted their other locations will remain open. I never really had a chance to dine there but it is always sad to see a business close. They always looked busy! https://preview.redd.it/hwplyc6vgaqh1.jpg?width=1197&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2c4092ee04b818a7b736ec06e32951b566da6d37

Hi everyone! I’ve recently accepted a job offer in downtown Seattle and will be relocating in November with my little family. We have 2 cars and from what I’ve read on here, it’s costly to own a vehicle in Seattle and there’s also lots of transportation options I can leverage to get me from point A to point B. My partner will be home with our kiddos, so it’ll only be me in and out of the house for work. So my question to families with little ones: are you able to make it work with 1 car? If so, any neighborhood suggestion where it’s a walkable distance to grocery stores, parks, pediatric clinics, etc? Those are my main priorities to make life much easier for my partner in the case that I do have to take our car. Thanks in advance!

not necessarily an actual shortcut could be a weird way you avoid a certain intersection, a time you know is terrible for driving somewhere, a particular street you use because it somehow saves more time than the obvious route, or a place you park because you’ve learned the hard way. every city seems to develop these little pieces of unofficial local knowledge what’s one Seattle 'shortcut' you’d never think to explain to someone unless they actually lived here?
