My husband is building a website to try and solve the issue everyone seems to complain about. There is no one stop place to get information about Tacoma. Its designed for both tourists and locals. It’s still very much in the early stages but he would appreciate any feedback from the community.

Moved here July 2025, and I still play with my friends online, but wanted to roll some dice in person. Let me come to your table plz. If I’m DM’n we’re doing starwars, and you won’t forget it. If I’m playing, I’m just there to have fun, and I cook a lot. 36/m. Can host, just want to play. Not the biggest fan of 5e or battletech type systems…
Given half the population of Washington lives in the Seattle metropolitan area, there's gotta be something going on here.
I think I already know the answer, but wanted to scratch the itch of doubt :) Even though there is no "No right on red" sign, the explicit red arrow right turn when going northbound 105th gives me pause. Turn right on 4th while red is a legal maneuver here correct? I have seen some drivers waiting for green, so wanted to clear this. Thank you neighbors!
I am sharing this event here to hopefully introduce more people to this important cause ahead of the fall event in October. From the website: Join Sahar Education for A New Dawn Brunch Benefit for Afghanistan, a special fall gathering in support of women and girls in Afghanistan. Together, we will share a beautiful brunch, enjoy live music and community connection, and raise vital funds to support Sahar Education’s program delivery in 2027. Guests will enjoy a thoughtfully prepared brunch featuring Afghan-inspired dishes and sweets. Sabz Matcha will also be on-site selling Afghan-inspired matcha, and a henna artist will offer beautiful henna designs for attendees. Special Announcement: This year, a graduate of the Gohar Khatoon Girls High School, Hasenat Eqbali, will share how participation in the computer and coding program through Sahar Education impacted the trajectory of her life, 10 years later! Hasenat is currently working for the Vancouver Washington School District and will share her story in person at the event! The event will include a musical performance and remarks from Zarifa Adiba, musician, author of Playing For Freedom, and Founder and Executive Director of the Zarifa Foundation. Zarifa made history as the youngest conductor to lead the All-Female Orchestra of Afghanistan at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2017. A Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia honoree, Zarifa has spoken on global stages including the United Nations, TEDx AUCA, the Tory Burch Summit, and the World Economic Forum, advocating for girls’ education and the transformative power of art. Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in an auction featuring wonderful prizes generously donated by our sponsors. All proceeds from this event will support Sahar Education’s 2027 programs for women and girls in Afghanistan.

Community Not Cameras toured the Seattle Real-Time Crime Center, and Baldwin-Bonney said that Axon, the company that hosts the data, can stream camera data into its cloud platform at any time, and the city would have no way of knowing if it happens. This poses a risk of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement obtaining the data because federal agencies could subpoena the vendor directly, bypassing Washington's protective laws, she said. "When SPD did their Surveillance Impact Report (in 2024), they cited a study that's a 40-year review of CCTV footage [...] it showed that there was no reduction in violent crime, and that there wasn't any clear evidence that CCTV helped solve crimes either." ~ The argument in public is about where the cameras point. The part worth reading is who ends up holding the footage.
