New to the place, not there yet, but I am highly intrested in it. Google mapping it, I notice, in this order: a cut, river, two bays and another cut thats seperating one part of the city from the other. Does it ever like two cities in one? Judging a book by its cover, the northern portion looks like a suburban college town while the southern part looks very urban and industrial. Would yall agree with this notion, or its just big city regardless of the water in the middle?

Looking for recommendations for gas insert fireplace maintenance. I’d prefer a mom and pop type business, as it’s harder and harder to find skilled trades that aren’t getting bought up by larger conglomerates.

I’m a woman* (*adult human female) in my mid-30s living in Seattle, and I’d love to meet other females around my age who are compatible with me, both in terms of interests and worldview, for girly and fun Seattle activities. I’m pretty active and love getting out and doing things. I’m really into hiking, especially hikes within about an hour of Seattle, and I go on bike rides pretty regularly. I love scenic places, exploring Seattle, little day trips, and doing touristy things. I’m the kind of person who will happily go somewhere just because it looks interesting or pretty. Most days I’m very active before about 6:30pm, then I have a drink + edible and chill for the whole evening. 😂 I’m also really into arts and culture. I love fine art and have a background in painting and drawing, although I haven’t done much of it recently. In terms of things to do out of the house, I love going to the ballet, candlelight concerts, and listening to violin music. I’d even be interested in going to concerts held in churches because I can appreciate beautiful music and architecture even though I’m strongly opposed to religion. I really love pretty, cozy atmospheres too. Warm lights in the evening, beautiful scenery, candles, and that whole hygge feeling are very much my thing. I actually have a book about hygge and a little hygge-themed game. I also have a Nordic background. In my downtime, I like watching movies and TV, and I love VR travel videos. Poor woman’s travel. 😂 One of my favorite things would be having a friend who wants to go to cute or fancy bars, order cocktails, and hang out. I’m looking for someone who enjoys both going out and exploring and having a relaxed evening together. I’m generally kind of a boring person to talk to, but I can at least talk about some of the absolutely crazy things I’ve experienced. 😂 I’ve also enjoyed doing question/conversation-starter cards when I run out of things to talk about. I had a very unconventional upbringing with a lot of adversity and went through extensive trauma in my early 20s, so I’ve had some pretty bizarre experiences and have had to overcome a lot. I’d be especially interested in meeting other women who have had unusual or difficult upbringings or life experiences and have come through the other side of them. As far as worldview and compatibility: I’m an atheist and strongly anti-religion. I’m not looking for friendships with people who are religious at all, regardless of which religion. That includes people who believe in things like prayer, divine intervention, or other supernatural claims. I’m extremely evidence-focused. If there isn’t credible evidence for something, I don’t believe it. Astrology, spirituality, psychics, tarot, supernatural experiences, and similar things are definitely not my thing, and I don’t want to be friends with people who believe in them. I’m gender-critical (see my IG page terfpride, currently abandoned) and strongly against identity politics. I’d rather judge people as individuals than through group identities. I don’t believe race is a meaningful biological category in the way it is commonly treated socially, and I think people should be treated equally regardless of skin color. I’m against race-based equity policies as well as prejudice. On Israel-Palestine, I generally side with Israel, so I’m probably not a good match with someone who has strongly opposing views. Sam Harris’s podcast episodes played a big role in shaping my views on this. Politically, I consider myself a classical liberal. I’ve never voted and probably never will because I don’t consider the expected impact of my individual vote worth the effort. I’m pro gay rights. Sam Harris is one of my favorite modern public thinkers. (I wish he were president. And also my dad.) I’m vegetarian and care a lot about animal rights. I’m fine with AI and enjoy using it. I don’t have children and I’m not sure whether that will change. I’d probably get along better with other childfree women. I’m pro-THC, although it makes me tired. I prefer cats, but dogs are cute too. 🐈 I’m intentionally being upfront about all of this because I’m looking for people who already share my general worldview, not people who want to debate me into changing it. I’m perfectly happy to disagree about small things, but there are some fundamental values that matter to me in a friendship. If you’re a woman around my age in Seattle and this sounds like you, send me a message and tell me a little about yourself and what you like doing around Seattle. 🙂 This seems to be the only place left to find someone compatible in Seattle since Bumble BFF is basically dead. 🤷🏼‍♀️ FFS, it’s 2026 and there’s still no decent friend app.

Our autumn & winter sunsets are something else. I hope you all see plenty in the coming months. The new Waterfront and Centennial Park make Seattle's waterfront one of the best in the world. Maybe the best if you count West Seattle's waterfronts. Enjoy them. Captured 12/3/21

I am a summer lover, but it's been a rough one after putting my beloved dog down earlier this year. I've missed too many sunsets in the depths of my sadness, but I'm finally ready to get back out there. This one's for you, Tycho. 🔭🌌

I'm moving to the Seattle are for a job and need to find temporary housing starting on 9/26. It's just me and my wife. A room in a house would be fine. We're quite, nonsmokers and don't drink or do drugs. No pets either, not that we would mind if the homeowner has pets. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. ETA I'll be doing hospice nursing on the northern end of King County.
