I'm just wrapping up my summer of selling my leather crafts at Renaissance Fair(e)s and need to go directly from one rural event (where camping is totally expected and encouraged) directly to Seattle (where the attitudes are dramatically different) in my RV / school bus. But, holy crap is it hard to find a place to park a large vehicle for a few days and not bother people, get hassled or straight up robbed? Bonus points of anyone knows a place where they would be happy to let me sleep in my RV How does an artist traveling through town find a place to park a 24' long vehicle? Most places have space at the event, but not this one. Is there a place to rent people's driveways for a weekend? I'm worried I'll have to drive all the way back down to Oregon and rush back up in a smaller car. This is not exciting with diesel prices, as a humble artist. Any advice welcome, as I've only visited the city once and this is sorta horrifying Edit: damn, y'all

Hey all! Looking for general advice and thoughts on my tentative plan to move to downtown Seattle. I’m a 24m gay man, I work in marketing (automation and data), and I’m looking to move somewhere dense, social, gay (masc specifically), and nature oriented. I currently live in Colorado and I’m sick of the winters and boring social culture. I was considering LA or SF but I’m interested in Seattle because of the no income tax and having actual seasons. I also like rain and fog. I’m aware that I’ll need a good job to survive, and I plan on getting a 9-5 in marketing, hopefully at a specialist level role. I’m looking to rent a studio or 1bd without roommates. Ideally I’d like to live in Belltown or downtown. Is this smart and feasible in 2026-2027? Any advice or anything I should know?

I have lived here for over 30 years but originally grew up in the Midwest where you would hear crickets all night every summer night. But in the 30 years here I don't think I have ever heard a single cricket in Bellevue. But as of about a month ago, I have started hearing crickets at night. It's not a lot of them, just a few, but it's clearly a new thing in this neighborhood (east bellevue, near lake Sammamish). Has anyone else noticed this change? Any idea what could be the cause?

Hello! We are moving our family with a toddler and a new baby to the Ballard area above 65th in the next year. Would people be able to share their thoughts on their area and recommendations for family friendly activities nearby?

I have gently worn men's dress shirts and dress pants I would like to donate. I'm looking to donate to a charitable organization with the following criteria in mind: Non-religious entity. I know many charitable organizations are faith-based, but are there any organizations which are not based on religion? They MUST give the clothes away for free to those in need such as for work, interviews, etc. I know some organizations sell the items to raise money, but I prefer the items are donated to those who need it instead. Does anyone have any suggestions? The second item is more important to me than the first. I would like to stick to the Northside/Eastside areas to drop the items. Thanks!

I was one of the miserable people driving to work this morning at 8AM and noticed more birders than usual at the Juanita Bay Park bridge. Was there something particularly cool there this AM? Did anyone get any good photos they’d like to share?
