I'm a 29 year old male software engineer and live close to Capitol Hill. I don't have a car right now since I walk to work now and parking is $300/mo, plus the cost of the a $30k car itself. My question is, is it a turn off for girls if a man doesn't have a car?Would you date a man who doesn't have a car? How do you usually go on dates if you don't have a car? I've been on some dates here with girls who live in Cap Hill/Fremont/downtown, asked if I have a car, and some have been turned off when I said no. So I'm wondering if I have to buy a car to date here if it puts me at a significant disadvantage for dating as a guy.

My fiancé and I are considering moving to Seattle in a couple years from Philly to be closer to family after we get married/ to settle down and have kids. I currently work at an arts nonprofit and hope to work in a museum in the future (work as a graphic designer/ comms manager). My fiancé is finishing up his degree in industrial design and hopes to continue work in that field (project manager/ product designer currently working in fabrication). I was wondering how those industries fair in Seattle. We moved to Philly because it’s a big city for the arts and there’s a good scene for both our industries so we went to school here. Just want to know ahead of time since we know Seattle is a lot more expensive than Philly. We’d most likely move to the outskirts/ suburbs and commute into the city for work. But I’m definitely worried about the cost of living difference. Basically I’m wondering if folks in our industries could earn a livable wage there or if we should give up on the Seattle plan.

Have any local businesses been successful in a request for SDOT to add bicycle parking near their storefront in a residential neighborhood? We have a solid patronage of cyclists but a tiny shop (no room to bring a bike inside), and it’s hard to justify leaving a good bike unlocked and unattended in our neighborhood, even for just a few minutes. I’ve reviewed SDOT’s dedicated web page and siting guidelines, but I admit I’m somewhat overwhelmed and could use someone to explain it like I’m 5. https://www.seattle.gov/transportation/projects-and-programs/programs/bike-program/bike-racks

Is there any TV mounting service that's below $100 in Bellevue area? I have a 75 inch tv and a mount already. All the services I see online are around $170 and I really don't want to pay that much......

Just figured out that you have to actually enroll in the program to take advantage of the cheaper power rates they offer from 12AM to 6AM, which is helpful if you can schedule your EV to charge during those times. https://www.seattle.gov/city-light/residential-services/billing-information/time-of-use#signup Pretty easy overall, (you do have to have a meter that's capable of it) just wanted to point it out incase you didn't know about it, seems like it should just be how the rates should be all the time? https://preview.redd.it/pso5gih430qh1.png?width=1436&format=png&auto=webp&s=6526809e13311cf6319cad65b4c4e3810dd94333

Lost a ring today (9/16) around 6:30pm on 6th between the police station and Farine bakery. It's a FAKE Cartier ring, but it was a gift so I still am sad :/ it's gold with crystals all around it. Size 5, very small hands haha. Again, mega fake ring. Got it from a street vendor in Mexico. Would just like it back bc it looks cool Please lmk if you've found it! I'd really appreciate it :)

Washington state has fined a paper mill in Port Townsend $734,000 for allegedly sending polluted wastewater into Puget Sound. [...] "There was 170 days we found that they were out of compliance." [...] The Port Townsend Paper mill is one of three "kraft" mills in the state currently under investigation for workplace safety concerns after a chemical spill at the Nippon Dynawave mill in Longview killed 11 workers in May. "We believe the penalty is grossly disproportionate to the facts and mischaracterizes the circumstances surrounding this matter," Brian Peterson, Port Townsend Paper's senior vice president of manufacturing, said by email. "At no time was public health or the environment at risk." ~ $734,000 spread across 170 days is about $4,300 a day. That is a line item, not a deterrent.

I’d want to go to a 24 hour places that cater to the weird blend of jet lagged tourists, hookers, off duty cops, homeless people and night shifters. The Seattle I used to know had the dogtown restaurant in Belltown. Now are there any places you can get pie at 3:00 am? Also I was just thinking about the bar Two Bells. They used to serve hamburgers on French rolls and had great milkshakes.
