What’s the take on living in Brighton/Briton area (mid-30s)? Pros and cons welcome, as well as other suggestions. The appeal to me is that it’s very dog friendly (not sure why but quite a few places in other areas of the city have breed restrictions on huskies/ husky mixes), easy access to multiple forms of reliable public transportation with easy & quick access to the city central, all the green spaces and walkability while being affordable (within budget of $2,000ish/mth for rent). Thanks in advance.

Where is the spot to buy fabric in/around the city? I stopped by the Queen Anne Michaels and was very displeased with their selection. I want to see fabric in person before buying so I know how it feels!

Today I got a robocall pitching me the propaganda against council bill 121267, which prohibits algorithmic grocery pricing, telling me that Seattle is trying to make it illegal for grocery stores to give you great prices and how this is going to murder babies. I listened to the pitch, getting ready to give the person a piece of my mind, and they said, "do you mind if I transfer you to your councilmember's direct line so you can tell them they should oppose this bill?" I said, "sure," and when they transferred me, I told Dan Strauss that I got a robocall opposing the bill, but that I support the bill so he should definitely vote for it. Felt pretty decent about that.

Hi everyone! Something kind of a freaky happened yesterday and I would love to know if anyone’s had a similar experience or has any insight to how this could’ve happened! Yesterday, my bank mail (replacement debit card) with my legal name and correct address was delivered to the apartment mailbox of my best friend, who lives over a mile away from me with an address that does not even vaguely resemble mine. We’re both feeling a little rattled and would love to know how this is possible- it’s hard not to feel a little freaked out lol! Thanks everyone in advance

Well hello, Tacoma sub. I haven't posted here before, but some Tacomans that have been driving down to play chess Thursday nights in Olympia suggested I post here in case anyone else wants to make the 20-minute journey.* \ with no traffic, speeding heavily* Copying this from a recent post in r/olympia : The Olympia chess group, Oly Blunders, meets on Thursdays at 6pm at Three Magnets. All ages and skills. Lots of new faces lately, and most of us are Not Great (at chess). It is a fun time and a wonderful crowd. Our last several sessions have had SO MANY players: 42, 36, 32, 47, 34, 34, 26, 24, 48, 32. Kinda nuts, imo. We also have an online league for all skills and ages. Our current season is in the playoffs. 60 players with many of the same people that come out on Thursday nights. If you’re new to the area, or sort of know how to play chess and need some new friends, or need to get out of the apartment but not make new friends, or none of those things, come out this Thursday and hang. You can alcohol, non-alcohol, sit, stand, and/or sing along with our custom chess night playlist maintained by the You Want Mora? Podcast. All info on joining us for chess is here: OlyBlunders.com If you’d like to come out, reserve a board prior to coming via that link. chess
