For clarification, I’m not asking about a FOB- I spent hundreds already to get a key cut and a FOB set for my car. But at the end, they told me it was my problem when the key wouldn’t turn my car on because it wasn’t paired, and they didn’t have the equipment to do so. It’s already cut and turns, but apparently there needs to be another thing set up.

If you live north of the ship canal bridge, you feel my pain. This was taken on Roosevelt almost a full mile north of the lake City/75th st i5 on ramp. The two buses in the rear eventually gave up on their 67 route and turned their lights to TRM, resulting in 2 huge empty buses taking up huge amounts of space. And I saw a 4th bus in the queue around 92nd street. The traffic is full standstill from 100th st to 75th st every morning - slow enough this morning that I passed 3 buses walking 5 blocks to the coffee shop, and the same three buses walking home. The city tells drivers to take the bus to avoid ship canal traffic. But taking the bus guarantees that traffic, because there aren't bus lanes. We have created more late eights, at least until construction finishes at the end of next year. The only way I've found to avoid it is lime biking on back streets to a rail station.

Route D is meant to be a rapid route between North Seattle and downtown. However the traffic on this route makes it nearly useless for commuting. It would take almost as long to bike downtown as taking the bus. I propose bus lanes in both directions on this entire route, or at least from Holman through Elliott way. To me this is a perfect compromise with building a Ballard extension as it would significantly reduce car dependency at much lower cost. Yes, this is a major commute route for cars, but as we have seen with route 8, investing in transit infrastructure ultimately reduces traffic because it is so much more efficient in using space. Aurora and I-5 also remain viable alternative routes to downtown.

I just need to rant. But I just moved here from San Diego a few months ago for work and let me tell you. This is by far the worst place on the west coast. The only thing the city has to offer is nature. After that. There is nothing. The city government is absolutely abysmal. Nothing will ever be completed and roads will always be shut down. And in the topic of roads? Absolutely horrid traffic. Be prepared for a 20 mile drive to take you 2 fucking hours. The people are worse. They have this weird moral superiority complex just because the city goes out of its way to take care of nature (even at the expense of actual humans day to day lives). The homelessness is awful. Be prepped for them to break into your car and then have the police say “well if you didn’t want that to happen you shouldn’t have parked THAT car here” (exact words I wish I could say I was even joking). There’s California gas prices but since there isn’t a single actual viable freeway in sight (you’ll fight through 20 mins of traffic just to get on the 5 and go 10 mph forever). If you’re considering moving here. Do yourself a favor and don’t.

I was under the impression that it was illegal in WA to require candidates to disclose this... and further surprised that only binary gender options M/F are offered? *EDIT* - yes it's illegal in this state under WAC 162-12-140, companies can request candidates opt in to a voluntary disclosure but can't require candidates to answer it. Disappointing from the employer IMHO

I've only got 3 days total, staying in downtown at Seattle Westin, and I've got a 8 and 9 year old to entertain. I'm thinking we're going to do the Space Needle and the aquarium, that's $290 for those 2. Will we spend all day at the aquarium? Do i have time to do 2 or 3 of the other options? City pass for 3 is $380, so basically if we do 1 more activity we'll probably match that price, but what's the 1 other activity that my 8 and 9 year old would want to do? Zoo? Chihuly glass? I think with the citypass we'll get 2 trips up the space needle, but i'm just not sure we'll be able to get another activity in with the amount of time we'll have. Thoughts?

Has anyone else gotten banned from Seattle sub for basically nothing? I think I said something about crime or homeless being bad a few months ago, then I tried to post a comment today in that subreddit and I am shadow banned (receives 0 views). Do they really just ban anyone for mentioning homelessness or crime? It seems kind of unhinged mods are able to control the speech and user base to that extent, especially for a major city sub?
