Any recommendations for a reliable handyman in the Issaquah/Mirrormont area? I have a number of small projects that could use some attention including most urgently replacing a rotted stringer on a deck staircase (pictured) before the winter gets too rainy, changing some light bulbs that are high up and require a ladder, etc. Suggestions are appreciated!

Has anyone had a good experience with a dermatologist in the Federal Way/Auburn area who is more open to prescribing Accutane? I’ve been dealing with dismissive dermatologists, and Accutane was the only thing that helped my acne. Looking for recommendations!

So the brushing off I (and others, it turns out) got from calling 911 at 12:45 in the morning last weekend for what the 911 dispatchers were treating as sort of a nothingburger, turned out to be over 100 people and nearly as many cars, with masses of alcohol, neon-lit car stereos that seemed like they should have been breaking the car windows, cruising and doing burnouts on the street, and, get this, at least 3 small children (kindergarten/younger age) running around in the midst of this mess. When the noise stopped at about 3:30 am, the security cam footage showed it was because two SPD units showed up. You should have seen the mad dash for the cars; they created their own traffic jam, lol! And there were plenty of NSFW bits of people going to the bathroom where no bathrooms exist. So, as we were told, there could be citations for trespassing, open container/underage drinking, reckless driving, double digit numbers of DUIs, child endangerment, disturbing the peace, etc. And now these businesses will have to spend money on trying to keep these assholes off their property. Nice job, Seattle...

The anniversary of when I started my business in Renton (filed the paperwork) is a month away. I feel like I should commemorate the event, like buying a cake for my business. I'm not sure exactly what to do, but I know I can't eat cake like that anymore. Maybe I should actually go get a photography session done so I can pose with my trophy? Man. What a crazy road this has been. And I'm still going to have to figure stuff out next year too, since the first year has some tax breaks for starting up your business. Hopefully next year is just as great and has just as much growth, I'm so proud of how far I've come with everything and I'm so happy that people are finding me who need me. I'm genuinely humbled and so grateful for everything that I have learned this year, and for all of the things I'll continue to learn in the following years. I'm grateful to John for being my rock in all of this, and for being so supportive. I can't wait until I get to the point where he can go back to school and get his PT certification, I feel like that will be such a great chapter for us, but I know it just takes time, and I know we will get there eventually. We are both working hard towards our goals so I know we'll get there. Anyway, just feeling nostalgic and wanted to update everyone on how I'm doing. Things are going well! Looking forward to more growth in the future, and adding years onto my business. Thank you everyone on (and off) of Reddit who have helped this business grow and thrive, and thank you for being a part of my story! This is only the beginning. 🙂

Hi everyone! Does anyone have tips on doing a weekend trip to Vancouver from Seattle? Debating whether to train or drive on saturday morning to catch Bruno Mars on saturday evening and staying the night. Do you recommend to drive or train? In Vancouver, is having a car and going through the hassles of parking worth it or is the city manageable by foot/public transpo? It will be my first time in Vancouver so I'm happy just exploring the immediate area of downtown/ near the venue and not going far. Also, hotel recs? Any tip is super helpful!
