🍄 GUIDED MUSHROOM FORAY & HIKE — I-90 CORRIDOR 🌲 Looking to get out in the woods and learn more about Pacific Northwest mushrooms? I’m putting together a small-group guided mushroom hunt/hike along the I-90 corridor, limited to 6 people so everyone gets plenty of attention. What’s included: - 🍄 Guided mushroom identification & foraging - 🌲 Hiking through productive PNW forest habitat - 🔎 Tips for recognizing edible species and their habitat - 🌳 Learning what trees, elevation, and conditions to look for - 🧺 Hands-on help with finding and properly identifying mushrooms - 🍳 Cooking advice — how to clean, prepare, preserve, and cook your finds - 🎒 Foraging supplies available if needed — baskets/bags, knives, field guides, etc. This is intended to be a small, educational foray, not a race to see who can fill the biggest basket. The goal is to learn how to confidently identify mushrooms and understand the forest they grow in. Group size: 6 people max. 📍 Location: I-90 corridor, with the exact meeting/foray area provided to participants. ⚠️ Important: We’ll only keep mushrooms that can be confidently identified as edible. When in doubt, leave it in the woods. If you're interested, DM me with your experience level (beginner/intermediate/experienced) and what mushrooms you're hoping to learn about. 🍄🌲 Come hike, hunt, learn, and hopefully go home with something delicious.

I recently came across a collection of paintings I'm quite enamored with. They're all by the same artist and I came upon them here in Tacoma. One depicts the old green line train platform at Racine Ave in the Englewood neighborhood. I would post to Chicago subreddits but I don't have enough Chicago karma to do so. Anyone want to join the investigation?
Hi Everyone, I'm currently in the process of being flown up to Seattle for an interview. Should the job take I and my partner would eventually be required to relocate to Seattle. My job would be in downtown. My question is this: What is a comfortable household income to be able to live and save for a house? If we move this is probably where we will plant roots and plan to buy a house/start a family in the future. I mistakenly made a post about this in the Seattle subreddit but it got closed for breaking a rule, so sorry about that. Other questions I have: 1) Are public schools typically good up there? We would be coming from Alabama so I imagine it will be a net benefit compared to the school system down here. 2) Any places to avoid looking for housing? Biggest thing is that I want my partner to feel safe. We used to wake up to used needles on our staircase when living in Portland so I would like to avoid that if we can. 3) Is there anywhere within a few hours that we could drive to get a dose of sun during the winter months? My partner was greatly affected by the winter weather when we lived in Portland. Thanks for any input!
Kids are finally back in school and I would like to spend my day off mornings reading my book with a good coffee out of the house, but I’m having a hard time finding a place that has seating that is tolerable for more than 20 minutes. Any suggestions??

This week it will take place this Monday, at 7:30 PM at The Pine Box, 1600 Melrose Ave. We will most likely be seated under the covered patio - if you see a group of Smash Bro gamers out there, then that means we're up in the Mezzanine! If you're ever uncertain of where we're at, you can ask the bartenders and they should be able to point us out. Please note that The Pine Box is 21+ only. Start time is typically more like 7:00, as people tend to show up then to order food, chat, and just socialize. Don't worry if you don't see any games as they'll be brought out soon enough. Start time for board games will be at 7:30, so if you don't want to be left out be sure to show up before then! If you're new, look for the collection of board games people usually bring. We ask that you please order something, even if it's just one beverage. The Pine Box is a public bar, and we need to respect their business needs. FAQ: Q.) How often does this group meetup? A.) Unless stated otherwise, this is a weekly meetup. Meaning every Monday we try to gather up and socialize. If we are skipping a week for holiday or some other reason, it will be noted in this post. Q.) What kind of games are played? Should I bring mine? A.) A whole slew of games are played; from short games like Codenames and Liars Dice, to longer ones like Evolution and Colonizing Mars. And feel free to bring your own games, too. You might find some people who are interested in trying it out. Q.) I don't really know how to play any board games besides x, y, z.... Will I be welcome here? A.) That's completely fine. There are plenty of people who are willing to explain the rules and do quite a good job at it, too. Q.) Speaking of being welcome, what kind of people are allowed to attend? A.) Everyone is welcome, so long as you are polite, respectful, and considerate of the other patrons.
Attempting to move to Seattle if job stuff works out and just found out there is no chillis. Yes I heard abt airport one but it’s more expensive. So was wondering what are some other good restaurants that have fire mozzarella sticks and ranch for a good price.
Hello Seattle! I am currently planning a trip with my husband for next October (2027) and I’ve been watching youtube videos of neighborhoods, places, parks, etc to visit. How’s the weather around that time of the year? Also, I really want to take a ferry ride and spend a day at a beach? Would love to hear your recommendations on those things and everything else too! It was my turn to pick a place to visit so I really wanted to see what the PNW is like. We’ve never been and i’m really excited! We’re coming in from Austin so if there’s any spots that are similar to here i would love to know too.
